''There's a lot to be truly confirmed on what would really happen if our goals were to be fulfilled.. yet no matter the outcome, this is the next evolution the world absolutely needs to see through, if the world remembered their history then maybe times would be different. Yet.. we shall no longer sit back and leave the forgotten unfound. We shall no longer sit back in ignorance in an era unchanging magic brings. They may insist we're shortsighted, ignorant, or scum, but I will carry these adjectives in pride if I may still get to remain by their side.''

Jeanine M. Raghbrinez is a Cambion hybrid woman who works for Mirage, an anti-magic faction working against the Adventurers' Guild. Her duty is to work closely with the faction as the leader's right hand. She makes use of her skills creating gadgets, deciphering guild patented blueprints, and ensuring mirage's safety, and overall longevity in different ways. When she isn't doing that she does her best to aid Fenrir in delivering supplies and goods to the project known as Valhalla and maintaining her active pact negotiations.

Appearance

Standing at roughly 5'6'' (~157cm) tall, Jeanine is a softly mint green colored cambion with a mix of subphibian blood that courses through her body. One that is connected to that of a specific breed of suphibian castrellan frogs native near the southern-east side of Castrella. This of course, is the reason behind her abnormally long tadpole-like cambion tail, and the unique scaling on her body existing. If measured by the height of her dark green horns however, Jeanine would be roughly 6'0'' (~182cm) tall in height. An estimate for her tail length is yet to be recovered (that tail has been said to be surprisingly elusive).

Jeanine attire can be described as often being seen wearing various workout clothing brands that are almost always to some extent made loose and dark in their coloring. One in particular she often uses is a brand known as Infestatement, a fabric, and clothing brand hailing from the country known as Qree-qra that is especially known for their higher population of sectum residents, and uniquely tall foliage. Often garnering the reputation of their clothing to be of high quality that lasts excessive use for much longer periods of time. If you were to ask her, she'd say it is mostly used to make both work, and transport easier for herself, yet the biggest reason deep down for it is to hide most of her features, as she is extremely wary of any older Adventurers' Guild residents recognizing her by her familial traits. Besides that, she seems to always carry a frog charm diffuser on her person that was given to her by her closest friend, and family, Quill. Whether the other Mirage members are aware of it or not though, Jeanine always seems to carry their gifts in her backpack with her too. Her home away from home as she likes to call it.

Personality

Jeanine is a fiercely loyal individual. She is completely capable of being a 'ride or die' to those she deems important to her. She is determined, analytical, and most of all very focused. In her past she'd have a bit of trouble with expressions, unintentionally coming off more ''monotone''due to how blank her expressions would come off (usually due to how much focus she would overly put into her interactions). After joining Mirage she's become someone that chases thrills more often, and happiness much more frequently, for not just herself but also for helping the goals of her fellow compatriots being realized. In a sense, making her emotions a bit more perceptible even with her mask on. One of her newer habits she's developed however, is a bit of enjoyment in making sound effects in reaction to certain occurences. Her favorite being the classic ''womp womp''. She's noticed the adopted habit helps a lot in conveying what she feels her face, or words, possibly don't at times.

Due to the nature of her upbringing, Jeanine isn't quite used to people outside of her group wanting to approach her. Despite feeling more wary towards social interactions, Jeanine is the complete opposite of someone who hates talking to others, she actually.. enjoys it quite a lot. Especially when it comes to those who are persistent even with her wariness that occurs. Breaking through her shell, Jeanine is someone well traveled, and eager to talk about the sights of the world from the perspective of its less talked about underbelly. The narrow walkways of Bellvué, the dense forests and fogs filled with fae snickering in Dizajni, the deep depths in the market of Umito, everywhere has their own share of secrets and trade. If any of it got a closer chance for a curious glance, maybe the world would be a lot more developed then it already is? Maybe a world beyond just aether and its magic.

Biography

Not all information below may stay the same as currently worded, the archivist division is both fact checking provided reports, as well as filling in gaps of information that has not yet been archived to give the bigger picture (wip).

New Beginnings [Patchwall 32nd, 1164]

For as far back as Jeanine can possibly remember she's always been a 'trashkin', someone that absolutely loves the art of ''dumpster diving'' by discovering the beauty in the discarded and set aside, she'd truly thrive. The true world of the broken, the renewal, and the forgotten.. all of it, she absolutely, positively, adored it. Little Jean was always digging into others' inventions, various other gadgets, and the trash itself in order to deconstruct just about anything! Just to then turn back around, and rebuild them into newer or hopefully even better things! The phenomonal world of: ...Recycling! This was pratically a practice she fell in love with from the very start when her family completed their education into the adventurers' guild. Finally getting the chance to see her familie's talents be recognized, and put into proper practice after a grueling few years of education to get into their respective divisions! If you were to ask each member of the Raghbrinez family their reason for joining, they'd all be different reasons for joining, however there was a few true reasons they all shared in common from the depths of their aetherical souls.

First and foremost, they had all applied to join in order to be eligible for bigger, better and greater opportunities for even greater pacts. Besides this reason, a majority of the family spread themselves into both the Contingency division as well as the Arcane Sciences division, as they foresaw themselves coming together to create something wonderful. (Though it should be known that the minority of the family were known to be a part of other divisions as well, some of note being the Environmental division, and the Creative Commons division.)

For the Raghbrinez family, their biggest dream besides living stable lives with plenty of sustaining pacts was to create a cure, according to them. A cure specifically for the disease known as: [■■■■■■■■]. This disease at the time had been a very viral illness of some kind that had spread rapidly across the lands, and waters of Solaurum. The family was incredibly eager to put a stop to it, as it had completely ravanged the previous village they had been living in to the point the only remains of the villagers were dust. However, instead of becoming the family known for creating a cure, things took a sudden turn for the worse, a plot twist no one had expected or could've predicted.

A Twist so Cruel [Whisper 14th, 1172]

This twist was when the majority of the Raghbrinez Family was later discovered standing alone in the research facility as the only noncontaminated survivors amongst a crowd of researchers tarnished in illness on the floor. The few family members who had not been present at the scene of the facility were later discovered to have been near, or directly at the scene of recently reported areas of higher rates of illness. Ones that had even been in the past hour having succeeded into a full blown plague level of virality. Being properly suspected of foul doing, the family division members were immediately detained for questioning that had to be postponed until the plague was effectively dealt with. Having been of course suspected of making the disease worse according to the evidence on hand at the time, the guild would not take any risks in having their continued involvement with the research at the very least.

During their time in supervised detainment, the other researchers who had not been present in the facility that day were forunately able to create a cure in the form of a vaccine quite quickly with little delay. Which only further stained the Ragbrinez name, why was a vaccine that had been delayed for so long be completed so quickly? The Raghbrinez family in their questioning was not only suspected for tampering with this cure, but for also allegedly attempting to poison their fellow members assisting in the cure efforts. Their alleged motive according to the investigators? Revenge, and most certainly, greed. This was heavily due to the evidence left behind at the recently accessed for high diseased activity villages.

Sadly, while investigations underway based on questioning results, the other researchers, as well as the villagers that had lived in the investigated site areas succumbed to their illness in death. Completely casting the Raghbrinez family under the spotlight for definite foulplay as they were effectively unable to properly defend themselves against the suspicions cast on them. No survivors besides themselves at the scene, the Raghbrinez family was ultimately blacklisted from the guild for attempting to create a world-ending plague, and for effectively obstructing justice in the form of stopping cure development.

Due to their reputation the Raghbrinez family was forced out of living at the guild appointed living arrangements in Eversun. Causing them to ultimately move back home, or more specifically.. back to the hotspot where most cambion spawn from. Somewhere that is out beyond the waters of Solaurum, farther than Umito, out in the ocean, the whirlpool or rather the whirlportal that acts as an access to the pit known as Drakkens Descent. Being out so far, where guild presence was still prevalent but less, they got to take advantage of the water guild's control of Elix'ren nearby. Despite being closer to Elix'ren, they never truly reached out to them. Simply taking advantage of the peace of being near a guild reputation that wasn't the adventurers' guild and the smear of their own family name.

After descenting into the pit Drakkens Descent, Jeanine lived as more of a cambion then as a subphibian within the underworld of castrella, Drakkens Ashes. Further developing her dark aspect. During this time Jeanine watched her family deal with countless troubles in the world above in Solaurum. The scar of their reputation branding them forever whereever they went. They were known as nefarious, careless beings. People capable of ending the world if they so wished. This led to her family changing both their names, identity, and finally their ways.

No longer living life loudly as the Raghbrinez family they lived under countless different alias with a life of underground deals, and transactions. If you wanted a weapon, an ingredient, a dungeon looted to beyond comprehension or other bounties not handled by any affiliated guild of the sorts then they were your ideal partnership that kept discrete papertrails and no regard for names or status. Every client would be given the same one shot, fairly. [WIP]

Rebirth [Prism 16th, 1184]

That Fateful Day [Charlatan 5th, 1220]

Contributions

  • Before being recruited by Quill in 1220, for several decades Jeanine had taken a lot of time to collect pacts with others in secret using the pseudonym known as, Cami Briggs for their transactions. There's traces of Jeanine's inventions spread out across Castrella as a result within different factions, and individuals that are bounded by their pacts of secrecy to ''Cami Briggs''. Some of which may even resemble the tricky fickle works of magitech, an exclusive regulated guild-bound practice.
  • In her time of being with Mirage she's contributed to helping create a number of tools, and devices for the others. Feeling quite fond of Rosalie's antics and mannerisms nowadays, she quite easily gets access to a lot of Jean's experiments often becoming new tools for Rosalie's special sticky fingers disposal. Some tools with Jeanine's touch are (but are not limited to): Rosalie's parasol as well as her amplified earrings. She also goes out of her way to decipher any blueprints or inventions brought to her.
  • There is a somewhat recent secret underground project in development in the works by Mirage, that is constantly being maintained, updated and even expanded upon quite frequently. Jeanine, and Zapalka are the biggest spearheads behind this project utilizing their strengths to the max in speeding it's development to completion. This project may also just be Jeanine's biggest ambitious feat yet.

Abilities

Valuables

Backpack

Her multi-compartment backpack is a gift from Quill to help aid her in carrying her various tools and items. Over the years she's both made and collected a lot of junk. The bag appears to hold slightly less than a bag of holding would in standard DnD. In dire circumstances Jeanine can use the bag as a makeshift heavy weight weapon.

Frog Charm Diffuser

A handcrafted charm gifted to Jeanine by Quill. The charm with its soft scents acts as an additional foci while also helping Jeanine by accelerating and enhancing her mental focus. Providing her with more mental clarity, stability, and an overall potent hyperfocus in moments she'd like to just bunker down, and work for longer periods of hours. It helps her greatly by clearing her mind and preventing her motivation from slipping or being stumped by mental blocks as frequently. Her cambion senses are extra grateful being a more smell aligned species.

Gadgets

Besides a few ingredients, junk, and blueprints, these are typically a multitude of tools, and gadgets Jeanine has designed herself over time. These items can either be found in her backpack (her ''home away from home'') or at her work bench in the Mirage headquarters base. One of these gadgets is her pickaxe for example that doubles as both a weapon, and a tool.

Trivia

  • Definitely has a long subphibian tongue (ironically she typically uses it for eating fruits rather than insects).
  • She is an avid hobbyist of both parkour and spray painting when she isn't busy building or deconstructing things.
