I don't need magic to make an object move. The world has other ways to do this and the stubbornness of its leaders will be swayed.

Zapalka is an Errant that resides within the HQ of Mirage as their Trapmaster. She utilizes this seclusive place to focus on her research in developing aetherless technology.

Appearance

Zapalka stands at 5'6 with a muscular build honed from mechanical work and fine tuned training. Her warm auburn skin is adorned by the medium cut of dark garnet hair, only accented by the bright gleam of her red eyes and deathly glare. She can be typically be found in attire suited for staying stealthy, as in her line of work as the Trapmaster of mirage she has to get in and out of places to build her mechanical contraptions without being spotted.

Personality

Zapalka can be seen by many as not only blunt, but someone who never minces their words for anyone. She speaks as if she's seen someone die at least a hundred different ways, and the threats are not merely a bluff. Still, she finds that she doesn't stand above anyone else when it comes to knowledge and logic as she's commonly found in situations where she will listen and debate freely with other people.

Past this, Zapalka can be seen as a person who's protective of others. Even before joining mirage, she cared deeply about those around her and their safety. So to her other Mirage members, they see her as a loyal, grumpy person in general, but willing to do anything and everything for them all.

Biography

Zapalka was a rather young scientist within the Arcane Sciences Division. Studious, well researched, brilliant logical mind with plenty of ideas about changes and tweaks to many varieties of technology. She sought mostly to see if it was plausible to make technology cheaper, to use less expensive resources such as essence, considering the current processes to create them was overbearingly arduous. Not enough people benefit from her creations, or her colleges creations. The higher elite of the guild said who could use what, and so Zapalka's young mind felt this was a crime to many of the general process. At this time, though, she felt that aether was still necessary for daily lives. It helped many things after all, and as volatile as it was the pros tend to outweigh the cons.

That is, up until the incident.

Four years prior to her joining Mirage, her family was in the process of installing new mechanical inventions inside their house, powered by latest findings in essence capabilities. They had gone through the checks. The failsafes were secure, the runes accurate to Zapalka's knowledge and the power sources recently created. It was a decent upgrade for their kitchen, the means to cook easier without having an affiliation to Fire Aether, but the cruelty about the balance of the world is easy to find out in the hardest ways. One of the gems had an impurity, the kind that would have been hard to spot for most, and unless you were an elvaari you wouldn't have seen the aether leaking. The explosion was grandiose, the fire swiftly consuming the house into barely charred remains. The emergency of the contingency being called before the fire could find a way to spread any further amongst the neighbors.

Zapalka lost her real family that day.

Arcane Sciences lost a brilliant mind that day as well.

It wasn't long before she was approached by Quill of mirage, given an offer... given a deal. Zapalka agreed wholeheartedly, only asking for a few things.

The means to create as she pleases.

And the means to vanish from all records of the guild.

Abilities

Ever sense joining Mirage, Zapalka has refused to use her aether in anything involving the creation of her technology. She used it often before, as the ability to mold her materials as she needed was useful. Now, she does things entirely by hand, and uses knowledge she gained from the guild to perfect this practice. Other than her mechanical knowledge, Zapalka knows her way around several different analog styled devices. Locks are a no brainer to her, if it isn't through magical means, as an example. The only thing she lacks is an easy supply of poisons that disable people that activate her traps. Never to kill, always to capture and interrogate or confuse and misguide.

Weapon

Unseen in any imagery of Zapalka, but she's known to have a device around her hand that has sharp pointed fingers. She uses this as a weapon of choice, with intricate mechanics inside to apply certain disabling agents or simply just for quick swipes to blind her foes. She's not here to have one on one fights, she's looking for escapes to lead into the many traps she hid so well.

Trivia

- Zapalka never aims to kill. Her traps are only designed to disable people enough to either move them, confuse them, or scare them from locations.

- She likes to play a lot of chess.

- Not a fan of cooking food. Will eat light if someone doesn't catch her doing so.
