Odin Finch/Relationships
Please feel free to message Dee on Discord to plan out relationships! Odin's a complicated character as usual, and is a personality sponge.
Micaiah Finch
"...Thank you, Auntie, for taking me in. I love you so much."
The first face Odin remembers seeing after being rescued and adopted. Despite Micaiah being quite inexperienced with kids, Odin never would've known as she was growing up. To her, Micaiah was an amazing parent, a stable foundation, and a pillar of knowledge about the world. Even if Odin had only been under her care for a little under 7 years, she owes everything to her. It's because of Micaiah that Odin is alive today, and she works diligently on the Valhalla Project in her name and honor, hoping to keep her memory alive for all of the future generations to reside in the district.
Korin Altair
"Annoying, insufferable, and inconsiderate—is what I'd like to say, but without him, I don't know if I would've survived my childhood."
A fellow orphan of her impoverished home sector in Eversun, Korin and Odin are practically siblings. They get into trouble together, they share their overlapping woes, they bully each other constantly, and reciprocate each other's bad habits. The two also care for the small community of orphaned children back in their burned-down home sector, pooling their limited resources together and dedicating them to the children. Everything they both do is for this little makeshift community, and despite their butting heads and thrown insults, they happily work together to achieve their common goal. Outside of this, Korin and Odin are especially crude to each other. They partake in both verbal and physical altercations every time they see each other, and will often stop at nothing to prove one is superior to the other in all aspects. Since Korin is not working under the Guild title, they don't see each other very often. When they do, it's to either convene and discuss the orphan community and how they can better succeed in their goals, or to meet up for a long night of drinking at a tavern. In the end, they wouldn't be who they are without each other to keep the other's ego in check.
Raelynn Aquamor
"My best friend I've known for almost a decade. I want to be better for her. I want to be someone that she'll be proud to stand beside, for however long she wants."
An old wayfaring partner met at a tavern during Odin's worst bouts of bar-hopping. They get along very well, and despite being separated from wayfaring, still constantly spend time with each other as best friends. Rae will often beg Odin to join her weapons-licensing classes to spar with the aspiring Adventurers. Rae also donates to the Valhalla Project from the good of her heart, and wants to see the old sector thrive more than ever. Though, since they do spend so much time together, Odin began developing a crush on Rae, and constantly battles with her feelings about her. The only reason why Odin hasn't moved forward with confessing these feelings is because she has the worst clinical case of decision paralysis, and Rae frequently complains her love life is going nowhere until she meets a tall, handsome, rich man to marry into. Odin is, in fact, none of those traits.
Rin Kazashi
"Rin is strong. A comrade-in-arms with similarities I can't deny. I hope she finds what she needs, and I'll be supporting her through all of it where I can."
A fellow captain in charge of a different Law bubble excursion squadron, Odin highly respects Rin and her capabilities. Even if they rarely work together in their position, the two will often spend time together during their downtime weeks. Odin thinks she's quite pretty and noble, and feels she is different than the richer folks that would normally turn a blind eye to her struggles. Rin was one of the first supporters of the Valhalla Project, effectively also being the first Odin entrusted with her most safeguarded secret. While she wouldn't disclose any further information to Rin regarding the whereabouts and status of the sector, she still appreciates the support genuinely and wants to continue being friends.
Lyna Solai
"Dragons are so strong! Lyna is a joy to be around and even if I don't see her much, I know she's ready to help me with keeping up my form and shape during battle."
The first dragon Odin has ever met. The two often go out drinking together, as Lyna's alcohol tolerance impresses Odin. While it's rare that Odin ever requires an escort home, Lyna is sweet enough to ensure Odin drinks plenty of water before heading home. The two also enjoy sparring against each other; while Odin isn't as trigger-happy as Lyna with partaking in combat, Odin enjoys keeping up her exercise, and she'll take it in any form. Sparring with a dragon is pretty fun and different, anyway!
Nine
"I'm sorry. I failed you once, and we both suffered the consequences. But I'll show you that I'm competent, and we can save people. I hope you can trust me."
To Odin, Nine was, at first, simply someone more experienced than her in her squadron. When she gained her excursion legs, they went on a mission together which wounded them both and spurred their Law corruption. After Nine's transfer to the Contingency Division following the terrible incident, she still takes the time to convene with him and ensure he is doing well. She feels as if, without directly admitting it, she can confide in him about their similarities and have someone understand her struggles with growing up impoverished, becoming corrupted, and wrangling the idea of a shortened lifespan due to their time in the Outerworld Division excursions.
Monica Holst
"There's a well of potential hidden beneath her cool exterior. I'm happy to be a shoulder she can lean on, and that she has something to look forward to with the Valhalla Project. The kids seem to adore her!"
Their meeting was pure chance during Monica's Education Division curriculum, being one of the few people to see her prior to becoming a licensed Adventurer. Their introductory sparring match while Odin guested during one of Rae's classes caused a bit of a sour taste in Monica's mouth, in which Odin completely understood. When Monica joined the Outerworld Division, Odin properly reintroduced herself and apologized for her exponentially different behavior during combat, and the two grew into quick friends. Odin assists Monica in managing her chaotic aether corruption, and after a few rounds at the bar, was also convinced to allow her assist in the Valhalla Project. Odin doesn't regret this choice, at least, as the children seem to ask for "Auntie Momo" quite often.
Lianne Fennick
"Oh... yeah, Lianne. She's uh... she's nice. She really is pleasant, I promise! She's just...unique."
Odin has known Lianne since they were twelve and fourteen respectively, bonding through their shared pain of being victims of the fire from year 1209. Lianne ended up being orphaned much later in life comparatively to Odin and Korin, but she still managed to tack herself onto the two in their teenage years, learning from their criminal-like way of living in order to survive. Odin does trust Lianne, enough to entrust her with the "ownership" of the Morning Roost, and to run it as well as possible for a public space. The two aren't particularly close, they are friends, but she wouldn't consider her a sibling like Korin.
Senti Ballahast
"One of the most timid Sectum I've ever met. He's a genuinely kind-hearted soul, and I am more than happy to help guide him through life, even just a little bit, hand-in-hand."
When Senti joined the Guild, Odin took it upon herself to assist him in learning the ways of of daily living around the Hearth, as well as Eversun City itself. She takes very good care of him, and treats him as if he were one of the younger siblings she so dearly cares for in the Valhalla Project orphanage. Whenever he calls her "big sister," there's a sense of relief and pride knowing that what she is doing helps others. That she can be a good role model for all ages, and help them in ways others may not be able to.
Cora Chromis
"While not that much younger than I, her curiosity rivals that of a child's. That's never a bad thing, it just means she views the world with optimism and joy."
A Creative Commons Division worker who had ended up beneath Odin's wing (quite literally...) at some point in time, eventually getting quite involved with the Valhalla Project. Cora's demeanor allows her to fit in easily with the orphans of all ages, and even goes as far as to assist with organizing their miniature, makeshift festivals during holiday seasons. When Cora began calling Odin "big sister" as well, Odin promised herself that she'd look after all of her newfound family, within the Guild, and out.
Lady Radialy
"I could never, ever thank her enough for taking us in after the fire. She taught me so much, I feel a little bad for leaving as quickly as I did."
After the fire, Odin and Korin were left alone to live off the streets and escape Civil Affairs guards wanting to put them in orphanage shelters. When Radialy visited their old district to dispel a curse, she found Odin and her brother abandoned, and decided to bring them to her own shelter outside of Eversun. She taught them valuable life lessons and acted as a guardian to them, until eventually Odin expressed her desire to join the Guild. While maybe she was a bit of a troublesome child to Radialy, Odin now regrets some of her childish behavior aimed at her. While rare, she does attempt to stop by her abode when she can to check in on her.
Hanzekihel Oulieus
"A coworker for a good chunk of years turned into one of the bigger monetary contributors to the Valhalla Project... I wish there was a better way to thank him or how kind he is!"
Odin and Hanze worked fairly often with each other, as the latter often submitted documents regarding corruption to the former to help better her understanding on the topic as well as assist her squadron with their health. They are on amicable terms, especially since Hanze began donating to the Valhalla Project and contributing to their monetary needs. Odin is completely unaware of the fact that Hanze has ties to Micaiah—which may come as a fortunate reprieve for her mental state—and has thus been kept out of the information loop regarding pinpointing her whereabouts (if she's even alive) and researching the other bonds in which her adoptive aunt forged long ago. All Odin knows is Hanze has began spoiling her a bit with gifts here and there whenever they do meet outside of work hours. She would never complain, and thinks he's a sweetheart.
