Cluckertoo

The Cluckertoo is a ground bound avian that is often kept or bred as a hobby by enthusiasts in Castrella. They are very haughty creatures, often jumping into combat the moment they see another Cluckertoo.

Biology

A species of avian very similar to that of a chicken. However, these birds had long evolved for purposes other than laying eggs. They are easily identified by their large chunky legs and heart-shaped tuffs of feathers on their heads. Losing their ability to mass produce eggs and instead gaining the genetic flexibility to easily adapt to their surrounding. With each generation, Cluckertoos will change, for better or worse, the result often being influenced by its surroundings or owner.

Cluckertoos have small wings, a staple with each generation no matter to how much time has past. This makes them incapable of flight, but have enough strength to allow them to gently descend by rapidly flapping their wings. Some have even been recorded using their wings to slap other Cluckertoos.

Life Stages

Cluckertoos go through a life cycle similar to that of normal chickens, albeit with longer lifespans as the species stopped relying on numbers to survive. Their eggs are much larger than regular chicken eggs, noted to have 4 colored spots corresponding to each of the Basis elements excluding Ice.

When hatched, Cluckertoo chicks show no visible signs of their unique features or element until adulthood. They have the appearance of a small white fluffy chick with large legs.

Once they reach adulthood is when their colors and unique features begin to appear. This often determines different fates for the Cluckertoo depending on the owner.

Native Regions

Despite their ability to adapt, Cluckertoos do not do the best in extreme climates. Making places like Eversun City, Sil'va, Dizajni, Guerre, Sung-luc and Rosewood ideal areas for these creatures to thrive. These places being the most common place for Cluckertoos to be found in the wild. However, it does not mean that people of other regions are not allowed to own them. It simply means that they are less likely to reproduce in such climates naturally. There are many cases of Cluckertoo owners bringing their Cluckers to many regions of Castrella despite the weather conditions.

Culture

Due to the lack of product that Cluckertoos produce in comparison to regular chickens, they are not ideal farm animals. Instead, Cluckertoo enthusiasts have taken to breeding these creatures as a hobby in many factions. Combat, Pageants, Collections. A very versitile creature for all types of people.

Cluckertoo Fights

In Heartsford, Cluckertoos are used in their anual 'Cluckertoo Fight' during the Heartvest Festival, where competitors bring in their strongest Cluckers to duke it out over who gets to be crowned the number one cluck!

Cluckertoo Pageants

Cluckertoo Pageants are a recent addition to the Cluckertoo enthusiast craze. With certain groups realising that Cluckertoos had more talent than just fighting. They had personality, some even being quite vain. Pageant Cluckertoo owners tend to upkeep their Cluckertoos, both in appearance and well-being. Often taking them to receive spa treatments, foot massages, nail filing etc.

The pagaent itself has a panel of judges who will judge a Cluckertoo's appearance, behaviour and ability to walk down the runway. It also tests the owner's sense of fashion, dressing their Cluckertoos according to themes.

Visual changes

Due to their high levels of adaptability, Cluckertoos come in a varity of patterns and features. With no two Cluckertoo every looking the same. The only parts that remain consistant being their small wings, large feet and big eyes. Otherwise, every other part of a Cluckertoo is randomised. Here are the parts that have been recorded to change with each generation.

Elements

In addition to visual changes, Cluckertoos have also adapted to channeling elemental abilities by drawing from the aether around them. Not all Cluckertoos can channel aether, thus making those with elemental abilities rare in the wild and pageants but very common amongst Cluckertoo fighters. Almost all battle Cluckertoos has elemental abilities, with each varying in strength and difficulty based on the ability of the Cluckertoo.

Due to the fragility of this species of avian, Cluckertoos are unable to gain elements pasted Basic. Meaning Harmonic and Chaotic elements cannot be learnt by Cluckertoos for it would destroy the creature from the inside due to the sheer power of the elements. Thus, Light, Dark, Whimsy and Law Cluckertoos do not exist in Castrella. Ice wielding Cluckertoos exist, but are very rare and often require very strict conditions to be brought into the world.

Accessories

As Cluckertoos are popular both for combat and fashion, there are pet shops in Castrella that catter to this need. Cluckertoos are able to wear a number of accessories, however, many are restricted for Cluckertoo fights due to reasons such as competitive advantage or obstruction. At most, combat Cluckertoos are allowed to wear neck scarves or tail ties.

Pageant Cluckertoos are more flexible in customisation. The most popular accessories often hightlighting the creatures prominant features such as shoes, leg rings and chains. Or feather tuff accessories to display their beautiful feathers.
