Clover Tides is a young vampire bat Kindred that works with Mirage alongside their twin sibling, River Tides.
Appearance
Clover bears a slimmer and shorter stature for her age with fair skin and wide, heterochromatic eyes (right blue eye, left green eye). Her hair is a deep burgundy/maroon color that falls to her lower back, often secured in a braid with a pink hair tie. She often wears loose-fitting clothing with rather large sleeves to accommodate the wings on her arms. There are a few ginkgo-like accessories scattered across her appearance, such as her hair and her shirt. She and River will often wear the same (or highly similar) clothing and change their hairstyles to confuse other people on who they’re addressing. The large bat ears on her head match her hair color with a pink inside that matches the small, membraned tail that falls to midway past her thighs. She always looks cheerful and happy.
Personality
Clover is outgoing and amicable. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind on whatever the topic at hand may be, and because of that, her words may come off as a little mean. She always means well, and aims to be a newly responsible adult that puts her all into the tasks bestowed to her. She has no difficulty making friends especially around her age, and is often the one to approach new faces first. Whether it be out of friendliness or wanting to play some tricks, though, the target may never know until it’s too late. She has a loud and proud cackle anyone can hear from meters away when she’s truly enjoying herself.
While Clover’s no-worry personality shines through stronger than anything else, it is a very potent cover up to the concern and care she shows for River. Thanks to her sibling’s corruption, Clover pushes herself as much as she can every single day to make sure River is at ease. She’s secretly insanely terrified of losing them and will not show or admit to this around others as it may be a sign of weakness, and she absolutely cannot show anything even remotely close to enfeeblement.
Biography
Clover and River Tides were born to parents that lived in Eversun City. Their father was a well-adapted scout in the Outerworld Division, often deployed to law-aspected bubbles, while their mother was a very talented Arcane Sciences Division researcher that assisted in finding a way to reverse corruption. Their family was small and happy—Clover and River’s parents raised them with individuality in mind, preparing for if they ever had the desire to split up and pursue their own ways of life. While they appreciated the gesture, they did often stick around each other even with their slightly differing personalities.
Their father returned one day with an unclean artifact grabbed from a law-aspected bubble, as a reward for himself after taking down a sovereign being. His wife warned him of the lethalities he subjected his family to by bringing this artifact home, but of course, he was insistent on keeping the trophy for his hard work, using his expansive knowledge on chaotic aether to convince his wife there were no dangers. Unfortunately, thanks to law aether’s radiation-like way of polluting everything within its vicinity, their parents were struck with immediate law corruption and quickly succumbed to condition when Clover and River were just fifteen. The two escaped home immediately out of fear of sticking around a law-infused object and fended for themselves for about a year, until River fell ill and collapsed one day.
Clover and River were found by a woman named Quill while they were hiding away, trying to figure out River’s sudden poor condition. Quill explained she was able to sense the law aether coming from River and immediately offered her assistance, revealing the mouth on her hand that could absorb and filter out a little bit of aether. After the demonstration, River’s breathing stabilized just a little bit. She then asked the twins to accompany her and her “family” of Mirage and work towards her goal of eliminating the direct source of chaotic aether (some information withheld). Clover took this as their one way ticket of finding an absolute cure for River and having access to a way to keep River stabilized, but the latter was still highly apprehensive of these methods. In the end, they agreed to accompany Quill; not like they had any other choice, did they?
Three years have passed since Clover and her sibling joined the ranks of Mirage. They are both able to roam around Solaurum freely and assist their new family in their goals in exchange, spreading the word of their “good deeds” and aim for finding the cure to corruption. Their personalities have bloomed fully in their newfound adulthood, and they spend their time playing pranks with their aether abilities in big events to bring attention to their presence before heralding their praises about Mirage. If they are not out and about causing problems, the twins split up and latch themselves onto whatever another Mirage member is doing.

Trivia
- Clover’s cackle is the stereotypical “ohohojou-sama” laugh.
- She can secrete a very weak paralyzing venom from her tongue, but it is only strong enough to incapacitate a small animal.
- She can use high frequencies to communicate with River that the average non-Kindred cannot hear. A Kindred would need very sensitive hearing to be able to eavesdrop.
- Her arms are winged.
