Dryeaf Valentine, is an Eldritch Forest Guardian, that was born under very mysterious circumstances many moons ago. Since his sudden birth, he has since vowed to himself to protect those dearest to him or those he, or more importantly, Mother Tree trusts. After fatefully protecting his forest for several years without demanded thanks, he was eventually found by the monarch Eleanor Valentine shortly after 1230's Phoenix Fest. The details to outsiders get muddled thereafter, but one thing is certain, Dryeaf definitely left his forest to follow Eleanor back to the Hearth, and then later enrolled as a student to join the Environmental Division by next year's Phoenix Fest. When he isn't actively studying, or in classes, he can easily be seen following after Nor.

Appearance

Being an Eldritch, Dryeaf indeed has quite a few notable forms he chooses to be seen as where his plant features always are visible to some degree. Most often though, he can be seen in both his more errant/elvaari looking form, or as one of his more subtle forms that consists of him looking like a small braided plant bracelet around one of Eleanor's wrists throughout the day.

Personality

Dryeaf is a quiet, and an extremely observant entity, that prefers to regularly keep a watchful eye over both his surroundings, and over everyone around him. This is in order to both protect himself, and others the best he can. He is very quick to spot things he views as 'out of the ordinary', and has also quite often had to assess whether the out of ordinary occurrences were a threat or not to himself or others.

Due to this, Dryeaf is a being that often listens much more than he speaks with others. Yet, when he does happen to converse with others though, he has shown to have a deep, and profound curiosity that extends even into a fascination for all things that are new to him. He absolutely loves to learn, and those that exist beyond his forest environmental intelligence is absolutely captivating to him. Despite this however, this does tend to worry him at times having to learn to trust others without the aid of Mother Tree nowadays, as he now has to learn to assess things for himself for what he deems as ''trustworthy''. It can take quite a while for Dryeaf to warm up to a person, and consider them ''close'' without Mother Tree's reassuring words.

Biography

When Dryeaf's consciousness first began to take form, he was nothing but a small little sprout that could barely peek itself above the ground. A tiny dry little leaf, caught in the middle of a raging, and rapidly burning forest. An inferno that could only be described as every plants' worst nightmare. Beginning to witness the end for both himself, and the siblings he truly never got the chance to know, he thought to himself in confused hatred to those that placed this sudden pain on him: ''Plants, they do not talk, they do not walk, nor do they bother anyone. They just live their lives growing, always wanting to receive sunlight, and have the will to give those around them a lot for free without needing to hurt others, why are we being burnt in return?"

Fun Facts:

• Dryeaf acquired his last name from Eleanor when she learned he was born without a surname. To make things much more comfortable for him, and to sure he felt like he belong, she offered to let him borrow her own until he ever decided he wanted to change it. It also works as a bonus for making documentive paperworks easier to log in.
• He could unofficially be seen as already being a part of the environmental division as a self-educated rookie given how often he helps Eleanor during visits there. He shares an extreme empathy towards natual foliage, and has a lot of knowledge to share in their treating of them with both kindness, and help.
