Phoenix Fest 1230

In the weeks leading up to the Phoenix Festival, Monica confesses to Freyja Lest that symptoms of her whimsy corruption are worsening due to overwork and stress. In response, Freyja orders that Monica take a leave of absence for the duration of the event.

Whenever she is not resting, Monica spends most of her time during the month with Keldwyn Flannery wandering the festival grounds. She gets Kel a gift from Eleanor Valentine's pop-up shop, Eleanor's Knicks 'n' Knacks. She also drags her roommate Jaina Ryder out to the festival with her.

Monica also contributed to the miniature Phoenix Festival in the Valhalla Project set up by Odin Finch and Korin Altair, aiding in setting up and tearing down the assembly. She and Korin told the children of the project a myth about the origins of the Phoenix Festival together, complete with acting and costuming.

Midway through the event, the newly revealed Trainsportation System is commandeered and brought to life by Lil' Red. Knowing that she is supposed to be resting, Keldwyn sends Monica back to her dorm. Not one to stand by, Monica grabs her scythe and jumps into action, aiding in the subjugation of the rogue train with the use of her whimsy portals. The high-profile nature of the operation unfortunately results in Monica revealing her corruption to the guild. The size of the portal needed to move the train takes up a lot of her energy, worsening her symptoms and causing her to fall ill for a week. While she does recover, some of her skin rings do not disappear, causing her to worry. Additionally, Monica does not hear from Parvuli for some time after this event. Ella checks up on her after this event.

At the end of the event, Monica braves her fear of water and joins Kel on her Trade Division ship to launch fireworks.
