Lumenaster Valoan, or Lumen for short, is a light-aspected Dragon in charge of the Archivist Division of the Adventurers’ Guild.
Appearance
Lumen is a rather tall, slender humanoid Dragon. The size of his broad wings—always folded—and long, thick tail outline him as bigger than his frame lets on. Blond hair falls down to his mid-back, fashioned into a thin ponytail often with a pink hair tie. His horns are curled like a stag’s or tree branches, an earthy-yellow tone painting his Dragon features in a beautiful contrast against his pale skin. His eyes are a sharp yellow behind glasses, almost unnatural, and his ears are large and pointed. Unlike an Elvaari’s ears, his are much flatter and pointed downwards. Green robes and a scarf adorn Lumen’s body reminiscent of a tactician. He almost always has a book in his possession.
Personality
Lumen is, first and foremost, a tactician.
He is a Dragon who views everything with a logical lens and an inquiring eye. Sometimes he weaves his words into elaborate musings that do not make much sense, and other times his responses are short and succinct. He is calculating and observant, abel to remember small details other may not. His one weakness is detecting subtleties in others’ speeches, often missing on sarcasm and body habits that might show emotions opposite of spoken word. Despite that, he can joke around rather well.
Lumen is kind and considerate, acting as a counselor to most of his compatriots in the Hearth. Quite paternal at heart for the younger Adventurers, his love and care is shown most when around who could be considered as close to a daughter as possible, Eleanor Valentine. She has done wonders in opening him up into how he presents himself nowadays, often sporting accessories made by her hands.
The lengths of his knowledge stretch as the continent of Solaurum and into the skies, and people often go to him to confirm myths and legends of eld. He may have been alive when they were written, after all. If you don’t know something about anything, Lumen may be your best resource to reach out to.
Records
Lumenaster's full name remains "lost to time," choosing to separate his full first name into what the Adventurers' Guild records as Lumenaria Aster, or Lumen for ease. As the Headmaster of the Archivist Division, he oversees a lot of clerical processes within the Hearth walls and remains in charge of archiving and organizing every bit of information that breaches his sight. The light Dragon is a cunning and observant tactician, viewing many situations with a logical lens and an inquiring eye.
He is presumably 6000+ years old, as he has stopped tracking his age long ago. The public understands his position as one of the founders of the old Adventurers' Guild prior to its failure. When the new Adventurers' Guild established in calendar year 1, he was offered the position of Guildmaster. Lumen humbly declined the position as he did not want to desecrate his old friend's name as the Guildmaster before, and instead opted to become an advisor to the new face. Now he spends his days watching the Guild grow like a proud father, learning all about his Adventurers and providing as much support as possible to the ones who seek him out.
He hails from Lyrrh al Stahl, as do most Dragons. However, he did not fall from the skies—he flew down of his own volition, etching himself in recorded history as the first Dragon to ever do so. He provided a lot of the information the Guild has now about the city in the sky, yet there is no explanation aside from his meticulous studies across all topics regarding Solaurum that backs his immense amount of knowledge. He may just be the ultimate bookworm. Or maybe he’s traveled the world and scribed as much information as he could himself. Whatever the rumor may be, he’ll simply laugh it off with a gentle smile.
