Juniper grew up a wide-eyed and passionate child. She loves animals, flowers, bugs, nature in general. Her family didn't understand it much, having been mostly business people. She spent a lot of time visiting farms and gardens.
After learning about the Environmental Division, she decided that was her life goal. She studied and worked her ass off to become one of the prime candidates for hire in the ED.
Due to her vast knowledge, she was deemed too valuable to be work in the field. She's practically chained to her desk dealing with border lines, intaking and categorizing field scientists notes and data, writing reports, and delegating work to other members.
To the annoyance of her superiors, she often assigns herself to field work hoping to get out, see, and touch things. Occasionally, she is successful.
She considers herself "overworked and underpaid" but the headmaster assures her she is unfairly overcompensated.
