The Adventurer's Guild (also known as "the Guild") is a worldwide network connecting every corner of the map together, unifying its inhabitants and providing a hub of information in and about Castrella. The Adventurers’ Guild was established by Eversun City’s monarchy over 1000 years ago.

Basic Information

The centralized headquarters for the Adventurers' Guild is a large, several-story building in the center of Eversun City. This building is lovingly titled “The Hearth.”

The Guild has established branches in various other major cities and regions in Castrella that are considerably smaller in comparison to the Hearth, but function in identical ways. Larger cities may have a small Civil Affairs Division but not have any Archivist Division staffing. It depends on the location and its culture’s necessities.

Enrollment

In order to enroll at the Adventurers' Guild, you must be 18 or older. That is the legal adult age on Castrella, universal for all races. All enrollment must go through the front desk reception at the Hearth in Eversun City; you cannot enroll through outposts in other cities. You'll be escorted through a tour of all the major divisions, pick one you are most interested in, and then enroll through the Education Division Academy. Upon successfully completing your courses after however many years required by your curriculum counselor, you will receive an armband color-coordinated to your division and a corresponding identification card with the Adventurers' Guild emblem on it. It is required that whenever one is on duty for the Guild, they are required to wear their division's corresponding armband.

You may then browse through the options Guild offers for residential living arrangements for both on-and-off-campus dormitories.

Every employee of the Guild is titled an "adventurer."

Major Divisions

The Guild is split up into 10 major divisions.

  • Wayfarers' Division - The largest division within the Adventurers' Guild. Focusing on any and all types questing and adventuring, and collaborating with other divisions.
  • Civil Affairs Division- Handles a large amount of the governmental legwork within Eversun, helping the general public and law-making. Also manages festivities and civil protection.
  • Trade Division - Focus on anything commerce, marketing and currency. Those in Trade work tireless to upkeep flow of trade in and outside of Eversun. This division also oversees mail services and monitoring trade routes from harbours.
  • Archivist Division - Tasked with documenting everything in Castrella. Accepting research from other divisions, manages their own printing stations, and records information into the Archivist Grand Library.
  • Environmental Division - Researches farmland, all living entities, crop accessibility and forecasts for weather. Engages with other divisions to ensure natural life is of high priority and is protected.
  • Arcane Sciences Division - Studies all subjects relayed to magic, aether and science. Focuses on anything to do with the basic elements, harmonic elements, chaotic elements, curses, pacts, aetheric vessels, aetheric combinations, elemental traces within the world, spellweaving, and so on.
  • Education Division - A fairly small division, runs required courses for adventurers. A collective product of all major divisions, rookies are required to attend an amount of courses. Subjects include weaponry, magic, ecology, geography, cultural communications, rule of the Guild, stealth, etc.
  • Creative Commons Division - Handles staffing for festivals, holiday cheer/decorating the city, maps infrastructure, and provides general entertainment/hobby services. These services include and are not limited to: theater troupes, Pictomancy shows, circuses. Oversees and manages community events.
  • Outerworld Division - One of the oldest divisions in the Adventurers' Guild, focuses on peacekeeping between Eversun City and all of Castrella's territories, although in modern times created a force to control the spread of chaotic elements. Works closely with other divisions.
  • Contingency Division - A large division dedicated to emergency services. Ranging from medical paramedic on a job sites to assisting the Wayfarers' Division on quests. Handles other oddball requests that may be unable to fall into any other category.

Guild Policies

While the Adventurers' Guild is fairly lenient when monitoring their adventurers, there are still regulations to follow. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Carrying a Guild-provided identification card
  • Wearing your uniform
  • Licensing your carried weapon

Guild Identification Card (GIC)

The information the GIC should state the following:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Pronouns
  • Race
  • Division
  • Job title
  • Division Insignia
  • Personal Identification Number

Acting Against or Without Permission of the Guild

If you disrupt or break Guild policy, you may have your GIC revoked, either temporarily or permanently. If it is permanently revoked, it is irreversible. If or when one acts on their own without waiting for the Guild’s permission, the Guild is not responsible for any of their actions and claims no state of affiliation for action. Since the Guild holds high power in their hands and acts as the governmental body of not only Eversun City, but the entirety of Castrella, becoming a problem for the Guild will at best get you removed from its ranks, or at worst, imprisonment. (This is not to say you can’t write a character who acts against the Guild within, but rather, to remember that the character is truly risking their safety net of the Guild by doing so.)

Outposts

Not only is the Guild the main governing body for Eversun City, it also acts as a spiderweb of information over the entire surface of Castrella. Various Guild Outposts have stationed themselves within both major cities and minor towns, often acting as more of a facility for wayfarers to rest and accept quests. These outposts still provide a limited amount of Guild-related services to the residents of its home city, and are still a huge boon to their residence. Sometimes they will assist in establishing banks, bridges, perimeter defense, trade markets, and other useful buildings. Outpost staff is consisted of either employees native to that residential area, or are sent from Eversun City's Hearth with the help of a relocation package.

The "quest board" stations in Outposts are staffed by anywhere between one and four receptionists, depending on the size of the city. They are also typically constructed with a tavern and inn attached to the main building where wayfarers can eat and sleep. Quests posted in Outposts are exclusive to that town, and cannot be turned in at another Outpost. This includes any other quests accepted from the Hearth or outside Outposts. This is due to the rewards for each quest being handed over by its client in their home town and only being available at that location.

Third-Party Factions

Third-party factions are organizations unaffiliated with the Adventurers' Guild. The Guild has no issues with someone setting up a specially focused organization, however, please be mindful you will be a direct competitor of the Adventurers' Guild's assets and organizations. If you as a creator are wanting to create a third-party faction, it is allowed, but it would be best to talk with a member of Guild Administration regarding this aspect.

Guild Associates

Guild associates are businesses that are sanctioned and supported by the Adventurers' Guild itself. While all businesses will require licensing and permits provided by the Trade and Civil Affairs Divisions, not all businesses need to be sanctioned directly by the guild. Some businesses, such as Nayu Gemworks, are direct correspondents and work with the Guild on a contract. Non-associates of the Guild will receive less protection and less assistance when it comes to procuring stock, building maintenance and inspections, and general notoriety. However, the business owner will have less restrictions and can likely cater to their customer base in a more personal and meaningful way as they aren't being directed by the Guild.
