Personality

Sweet, bubbly, and energetic under normal circumstances. Kind hearted and brave, with a strong sense of justice. Desires to lend help to those in need. Looks on the bright side, and always looks for the best in people, making her naïve to a fault. Good with the jokes.  

While hunting or searching, she is much more reserved and focused. She's capable in these moments, and the silly veneer melts away. We don't see this Hyalt very often. She uses these moments to reflect and organize her thoughts.

Biography

Hyalt was born to Calliope and Alwen Keylen in the town of Lilium. Calliope was a researcher for the Arcane Sciences Division, and Alwen an archer for the Wayfarers' Division. Hyalt does not remember much of her early childhood, but remembers her mother quite fondly, gaining an appreciation for the art of dance from her.

At the age of five, Hyalt strayed from the village some ways. She encountered a small pocket of whimsy energy and subsequently became corrupted. After she was found by her mother and taken back home, she developed some worrying symptoms from this— a high resistance to pain, a tendency to spin everything into a positive light whether it needed it or not, nausea, some mild hallucinations, and some very concerning skin rings on her left arm. Worried sick for her daughter, Calliope set out to find a way to cure— not manage, cure— the symptoms that were now plaguing her daughter.

Unfortunately, Calliope never returned home. Fearing the worst had befallen his wife, Alwen took his daughter out west to an isolated part of his homeland in Sil’va, leaving his position in the Guild in the process to become an independent hunter. Before leaving, he raided Calliope's office and stocked up on some supplemental medicine to help Hyalt manage her symptoms.

Hyalt lived out the rest of her childhood in Sil'va in relative comfort. Despite this, she came to resent the isolation. Eventually, after thirteen years, something inspired her to leave home. She’d heard tales of an adventurer’s guild— the Hearth— in Eversun City, and she set her heart upon going there to join them. On the eve of her 18th birthday, Hyalt set off on her own in the dead of night. Armed with nothing but a bow crafted by her father, a handful of arrows, and some other basic camping equipment, she made her way to Eversun alone and joined the guild with Creative Commons. While it did not take her out of the city much, and it was not the adventure she was seeking, Hyalt made countless connections and learned a number of skills, and spent much of her spare time exploring the Hearth searching for any clues to her mother's whereabouts.

In 1229, Hyalt began to have strange dreams concerning her mother. Sometime after this, she chanced to meet a researcher that worked with her mother, Hanzekihel Oulieus. Hanze gave Hyalt a letter from Calliope which explained that she would be leaving the Hearth without resigning from the guild, essentially disappearing. He also gifted her her mother's old ID card and armband, as well as a photograph that she had kept on her desk-- the only photo Hyalt now has of her.

Shortly after this encounter, Hyalt decided to transfer to the Wayfarer’s Division, returning to classes to do so. She now takes quests that will take her as far and wide across Castrella as possible, in the hopes that one day she will cross paths with her mother.

Relationships

Eleanor Valentine

Ella is one of Hyalt’s earliest friends at the guild, having known each other since even before Ella joined Creative Commons officially. The two worked together on countless CC projects during their time together. Ella was one of the first people Hyalt confided in about transferring to the Wayfarers’ Division. They remain close friends, almost like sisters, and Ella will occasionally help Hyalt search for clues to her mother’s whereabouts.

Ari Lancaster

Hyalt and Ari met during her time in the Creative Commons Division. He was her point of contact in the Trade Division for CC requisitions. The two have done things together which are too salacious to detail in this wiki.

Lucia Nayuri

Lucia and Hyalt met during their time in Creative Commons. Hyalt assisted in set dressing at Convergence for a time, and became deeply enamored with Lucia’s routine. After her division transfer, the two remain friends, with Hyalt visiting Convergence often to support Lucia’s shows and the two being seen frequently at lunch together.

Hanzekihel Oulieus

Hyalt had a chance meeting with Hanze which granted her the most progress towards finding her mother she’d made in her entire time in the Guild. She occasionally bothers him to explain some of Calliope’s more complex research to her. This point of contact inspired Hyalt to transfer to the Wayfarers’ Division.

Deirdre Silva

Dierdre was Hyalt’s first new friend she made after transferring to Wayfarers’. She saved Hyalt from danger while she was out on her first quest. The duo stuck together after this and Deirdre escorted her to where she needed to go. Hyalt occasionally returns the favor, escorting her across more dangerous terrain when making deliveries.

Keldwyn Flannery

Keldwyn approached Hyalt early on in her time with the Wayfarer’s division, offering to take her aboard her ship as part of her crew. Hyalt eagerly agreed, and the two have since become frequent quest partners, with Hyalt accepting requests to be put on Kel’s crew multiple times.

Lianne Fennick

Hyalt accidentally catches feelings for Lianne after the first time they sleep together. Hyalt’s feelings may or may not be one-sided but she frequently stays the night and visits the cafe when she can. Hyalt also helps her out when she's able, bringing ingredients in as needed.

Odin Finch

Hyalt meets Odin when Lianne sends her out looking for ingredients. The duo eventually become drinking buddies, which leads to them spilling their guts together and bonding over their losses. Hyalt would quite literally kill or be killed for her.

Korin Altair

Hyalt knows Korin through Odin. She initially seeks him out to ask him about her mother. While he doesn’t have any direct information, she continues to badger him as they continuously run into each other again and again. She eventually begins feeding him information on corruption in hopes of receiving aid for her cause.

Monica Holst

Monica and Hyalt feel drawn to each other by a strange sense of familiarity, despite not knowing her prior to meeting. The two are best friends and know they can rely on each other for anything.
