The Civil Affairs Division is one of the ten major divisions of the Adventurers' Guild. The written shorthand version is "CAD." Its uniform armband is a brown color, and the signature gemstone embedded into the star embroidery is a garnet.

Overview

In Eversun City, the Civil Affairs Division acts as the city's pillar of stability. While the Guild does act as a governmental body to Eversun, it is the Civil Affairs Division that handles the majority of that subject of legwork. There are a few subdivisions established in the Civil Affairs Division, each one fashioned to address specific needs required by the general public and its residents. The overall reception of Civil Affairs employees from the public is less than desirable, as most residents do not enjoy the necessity of taxes, licenses, and the enforcement of laws. These facts are, however, the reason why Eversun functions as flawlessly as it does... to those who may be blind to less-than-desirable aspects of the region.

Responsibilities

Civil Affairs handles more than just passing and enforcing laws. Their staff also manages community events and clears out areas to hold festivals, as well as hires city guards to protect and overlook all of the sectors in Eversun City.

Every major city and town in Castrella has their own branch of Civil Affairs that are in communication with each other. Some may even have their own unique subdivisions.

Known Subdivisions

The Civil Council

An assembly of 148 Civil Affairs employees of varying genders, races, ages, experiences, and origins which facilitates the law submission process. These laws only pertain to Eversun City, and do not have sway in laws that are passed in other cities and towns across Castrella. They are the final vote on bills presented by the community, only requiring the final seals of approval from the headmaster and monarchy both. The first meeting held by the Civil Council to examine a bill is public attendance, allowing the residents to sit in and digest the new bill of law. The second meeting is private attendance, only allowing the Civil Council, headmaster, and monarchy to review the law and fix any holes in the idea before final approval, or outright reject the bill. Regular meetings to review the laws, dissect the current atmosphere of the public, and otherwise recap the state of affairs, occur once every two weeks.

Cultural Impact

The staff in this subdivision is tasked with documenting anthropological studies regarding cities outside of Eversun, and utilizes that information to further keep citizens safe and happy. By analyzing and adopting ideas used by outside territories, Cultural Impact employees can present better-adjusted legalities to the Civil Council and the headmaster.
