Personality

Odin is a fairly carefree woman, often riding the current atmosphere and answering accordingly. She adapts well to shifting conditions both in mood and combat, and does attempt to act friendly towards most Sinners. She doesn't initiate conversation particularly herself, but will chime in when asked to or if she thinks her ideas are important to contribute. Many individuals who simply pass by her will comment on how difficult it is to pinpoint what type of person she truly is, and of course, rumors spread like wildfire within the Hearth walls.

To her squadron, Odin is determined, loyal, and commandeering. She is not afraid to intervene when a rookie or seasoned veteran is failing, and disciplines her squadron in various ways that are not demeaning. Other squadrons audibly recount their wishes to have Odin as their captain, to which she compliments the other squadrons' captains and assures their regimens are just as important.

Biography

Odin is an orphaned Featherfolk who was born & raised in the northwestern sector of Eversun City, notorious for hosting the poorer and impoverished residents of the City. She was raised by a Human woman by the name of Micaiah, who opted to take Odin into her home when the young Featherfolk lost her parents. Odin has been with her adoptive aunt Micaiah since she was five years old, and because of her, was able to attend public school to receive a proper education.

The Civil Affairs Division of Eversun City is supposed to be the pillar of protection and safety for the capital. Unfortunately, the guards particularly assigned to Odin's sector were cruel and punishing. They would ignore their given instructions and actively make the residents' lives worse, when they already barely generated enough income to keep a roof over their heads. Micaiah was slightly better off than most of the residents in this sector, but she devoted a lot of time, effort, and money to running a bookstore outside the slums. While her business was fairly successful, she still spent a lot of her income on donating to the local charities to keep the residents in her sector fed and educated.

During this time, Odin kept close by to a Lesser wolf Kindred by the name of Korin. While Korin was unable to attend public school, as he also was an orphan under care of another resident, Odin spent some of her free time teaching him the subjects she'd learn in her school classes. In exchange, Korin would teach Odin how to navigate the streets better, steal from the rich who don't need their pocketbooks, and show all the routes to take to avoid guards. Eventually, Odin turned into a little thief alongside her brother-figure, taking trinkets to sell on the market or outright wallets from people's pockets.

There came a day where a fire broke out in Odin's home sector, when she was about eleven years old. Due to the laziness of the Civil Affairs guards stationed to keep an eye on this sector, the fire quickly grew out of hand. There were no spellweavers versed in water aether close by to assist with the fire, and eventually, over 80% of the already-deteriorating houses in the sector burned to the ground. Many more children were left without parents, and worse for Odin, she had lost Micaiah in the blaze. Her final moments with Micaiah were spent kicking and screaming, being pulled away by Korin to safety by Micaiah's last request. Immediately, the young Odin turned to the Guild desperately to investigate the cause of the fire. The Guild claims an investigation was conducted, as Odin believes it was not an accident, yet the reports state it was not sabotage. With Odin's and Korin's home now burned to ashes, Odin is left with no choice but to join the Adventurers' Guild alone.

As much as Odin despised working for the governing entity who turned her life around for the worst, she vowed to upturn the poisoned side of the Guild and leak their secrets that the public deserves to know. She had originally intended to join the Civil Affairs Division in hopes of changing everything from the inside, but as she learned about the Adventurers' Guild within its curriculum, she realized how small she was in the grandeur of the Guild. Instead, she finalizes her education through the Guild and joins the Wayfarers' Division.

The idea for becoming a wayfarer stemmed from the enticing promise of hard work being rewarded with high rewards. This quickly caused her to overwork herself early into her career at the Guild. The monetary rewards were not nearly as high as she expected, and without properly budgeting for this, she quickly spent all of her money on caring for the orphaned children in her sector and alcohol. In one of her drunken bouts of depression at the Ginkgo Tree, she meets a woman by the name of Raelynn Aquamor--another wayfarer unsatisfied with her progress within the division. Somehow, and Odin is quite unsure how it happened still to this day, the two agreed to partner up and begin accepting quests together. While Rae scored the opportunity for assistance in searching for ancient weapons to add to her collection, Odin pocketed most of the money from their journeys. The two had a fairly amicable relationship as wayfarers, even gaining reputation as a formidable duo. Eventually higher-ups from the Hearth management approached them to offer promotions to different divisions, and including Guild-hosted lodgings in the package. They both accepted, calling off their wayfaring partnership of three years.

Odin's new position in the Outerworld Division proved the perfect fit for her adamant personality. She performed outstandingly on her first excursions, becoming a stable pillar of her Law bubble squadron even as a rookie. Eventually, her performance saw her fit to become the next Captain of her squadron at the untimely demise of her prior one. Without much room to decline, she equipped the provided mantle and became an inspiration for all excursion squadron members across the Outerworld Division.

Relationships

Please feel free to message Dee on Discord to plan out relationships! Odin's a complicated character as usual, and is a personality sponge.

Korin

A fellow orphan of her impoverished home sector in Eversun, Korin and Odin are practically adoptive siblings. They get into trouble together, they share their overlapping woes, they bully each other constantly, and reciprocate each other's bad habits. The two also care for the small community of orphaned children back in their burned-down home sector, pooling their limited resources together and dedicating them to the children. Everything they both do is for this little makeshift community, and despite their butting heads thrown insults, they happily work together to achieve their common goal. Outside of this, Korin and Odin are especially crude to each other. They partake in both verbal and physical altercations every time they see each other, and will often stop at nothing to prove one is superior to the other in all aspects. Since Korin is not working under the Guild title, they don't see each other very often. When they do, it's to either convene and discuss the orphan community and how they can better succeed in their goals, or to meet up for a long night of drinking at a tavern. In the end, they wouldn't be who they are without each other to keep the other's ego in check.

Raelynn
