Eternally blessed by the night sky

May the stars guide me on my way

With hope in hour hearts, we move forward

May your dreams take you starward

— A fragment of “Ode to Stardust”, the anthem of Oneiros.

Oneiros is a city located in the eternally nightlit country of Noct. In contrast to Noct's gothic visuals, Oneiros carries the visuals of a more fantastical, fairytale-like world. The colors of blue and gold, as well as themes and motifs of the stars and cosmsos, seem to be common. Cartographers say it is somewhere near Noct's landmark (floating?) crystal, Lumina. which can be seen all the way from Oneiros if one is standing on a tall enough vantage point, but in reality, it sits close to the neighbouring land of Aetheria, making it a perfect place for people from all over Castrella to better appreciate all sort of celestial events. Oneiros harmonizes the most with the element of Light.

Being slightly up north makes its neutral climate harbor slightly lower temperatures than usual, something especially notable during the season of Frost. Its citizens are called Dreamers.

Dreamers

As Oneiros is a very Aether-focused city, most Dreamers are reported to be of Elvaari heritage in some way or form, while a good chunk of the population is purebelooded, there is a sizeable part of it that represents the Half-Elvaari Errants, and only a very minuscule portion of the Dreamers in Oneiros are actually Half-Elvaari Featherfolk.

Culture

The Archivists are working hard… come back soon!

Folklore

The Night Sky Chronicles

The Night Sky Chronicles is a fairy tale anthology by various authors, the first and last of these stories being written by an anonymous author with the pseudonym “Astra”. The stories detail the creation of the night sky and the stars that surround it, or in the anthology's own words; “How the light adorned the silent dark of night.”

The Dreamers of Oneiros are more than happy to share the stories and folklore of their city! More will be added soon…

Trivia

  • “May your dreams take you starward” is a common motivational saying in Oneiros, it basically means “Keep chasing your dreams”.
  • Dreamers are said to have a deeper emotional attachment to the skies above them than people from other towns, having been born and raised amidst Noct's usual darkness, things like stars, constellations, meteor showers, and other celestial phenomena carry major importance to them. Bringing a major focus on enjoying the fleeting moments of life, and living in the moment, rather than lingering in the past, or future.
