Personality

Calliope has a personality similar to her daughter Hyalt, although slightly more reserved. She has an elegance to her speech, almost always speaking in proper sentence structure. Despite this, she has a kind heart, and only wishes the best for the people in her life.

Biography

Calliope was born Calliope Walstrop in the town of Lilium in 1177, and along with one little sister, Genevieve.

She joined the guild at 20 after focusing her studies towards Arcane Sciences. There, she mets Hanzekihel Oulieus and Micaiah Finch.

Sometime between 23-25, she mets Alwen Keylen. The duo eventually married and had one child together, Hyalt, in 1204. Sometime after this, she moved back to Lilium to raise Hyalt, but set up a smaller satellite office at Lilium's Guild Outpost and makes semi-frequent visits to Eversun to submit research and catch up with old friends.

At 32, an accident occured which left Hyalt corrupted. Her visits to Eversun became longer and more frequent for the next eight months while she dove headfirst into research on curing corruption.

Some time later, something she was working on caused her to contract aether corruption, making her research even more urgent.

Then, the fire in Micaiah's district occured, and one of her best friends went missing.

After this, she gave some of her belongings to Hanze, filed the last of her research while taking other important documents, and left in the dead of night.

She made one last pit stop in Lilium to say goodbye to her daughter, and to tell her that she will come back when she has a cure.

It has been nearly twenty one years since this incident, and no one has seen a trace of her since.

Hanzekihel Oulieus

Hanze is one of the first friends and research partners Calliope makes in the guild. She consistently used him as a springboard for her research. Despite his irritable personality, the two get along well, and she comes to admire him as a friend and fellow researcher.

She hopes that her sudden disappearance has not caused him too much pain.

Micaiah Finch

Micaiah was the archivist to whom Calliope submitted much of her research. Similarly to Hanze, Calliope managed to break through her cynical exterior to find a valuable friend. The two would often meet in Hanze's office to discuss their findings and catch up with each other. Her disappearance spurs many of Calliope's longstanding doubts about the guild to the surface, and triggers her own disappearance two weeks later.

She hopes that she made it out of the fire alive and is still out there doing well enough to teach her how to brew a cup of coffee.

Hyalt Keylen

Her very own daughter, her pride and joy, whose photos she shoved into the face of anyone who would listen. Calliope hopes that she was a good mother to her for the brief time they were together, and hopes that Alwen raised her well without her.

She hopes to one day reunite with her and finish the research she once started side by side.
