This humble city of ours was born from a small settlement, you wouldn't believe it, but we worked very hard to bring this city up from a mere settlement with a bonfire, to the city you see today. (Words said by a Cinderfall Civilian when asked about the city.)
Cinderfall City is a relatively small, secluded city located in the northeast of Dizajni, near the mountain range. Nicknamed "The Eternal Auburn" for the mesmerizing red hues the leaves take, and colloquially known among adventurers as "The Afterlife of Dizajni," due to the fact that adventurers who have lost their way in the forest and have fallen unconscious, may see themselves being taken care of here, which has led some to believe they've discovered the afterlife.
While a relatively peaceful place for the most part, Cinderfall is known to be rather stiff in regards to outsiders, mostly due to the long conflict they had with a neighboring settlement. But they'll slowly warm up to you once your intentions are made clear. Most of the city is in the forest area, but there are a few buildings up in the nearby mountains, said mountains are where the city's leader figure resides.
Government
Cinderfall is led by a single person, who has someone to assist them. This is the Ember and their right hand, who bears the rather common moniker of "Chancellor." The Ember is chosen by the people, although back in Cinderfall's smaller days, it used to be a role that was passed down. The role of the Ember is to manage the city, and take the necessary actions to guarantee the satisfaction, and safety, of Cinderfall's citizens.
Security
Because of the tight conflict they had with a neighboring territory, security is somewhat tight across the board. Mainly in regards to people entering the city. Guards are often standing in the exterior borders of Cinderfall, and especially near and within the Ember's Palace. Even outside of these reasons, it is not uncommon to see people with a weapon sheathed in case something breaks out. At worst, you'll be kicked out of Cinderfall. At worst. At best, thrown into the prison under the Ember's Palace. Or perhaps being kicked out is THE best option. Just… don't do anything rash.
Cuisine
Cinderians love savory dishes as much as they enjoy cooking with spices. They also adore roasted foods! Roasted apples, vegetables, all the works. Cinderfall's core diet is composed of such foods, as well as warm/hot foods in general. In Cinderian culture, it is often considered rude for someone's food to be served cold, and on that note, there are not a lot of Cinderians who have eaten anything cold in their life. In fact, it can be amounted to less than 15% of the population.
Roasted oranges are a very popular breakfast and dessert choice in Cinderfall when it comes to fruits, right after roasted apples. Fried goods are also another popular type of lunch, just not as popular as baked, grilled or roasted foods.
Militia
Cinderfall City has a military of its own, while not an overwhelming force by all means, the Crimson Flames have been through thick and thin, originally a group of 8 people who preserved the peace in Cinderfall, they slowly grew to become a wider group of individuals, their ranks growing considerably once the Conflagration (the long conflict with a neighboring territory) began. These people banded together under the shared purpose of keeping the peace in Cinderfall City. The Crimson Flames have slightly more healers than they do fighters, mainly dedicated to treat the wounds of fallen adventurers that have lost their way in Dizajni.
Most notably, the Crimson Flames were led by a rabbit kindred during the latter half of the Conflagration, who was deemed officer in a last ditch effort to bounce back from a precarious situation. She was later deemed the Ember for her efforts.
Populace
The original 20 ~ 25 habitants of Cinderfall were all rabbit kindred. So, naturally, most of the populace is composed of rabbit kindred. But there are also other races living in Cinderfall City. Mostly Fey. Less common are other races, mostly adventurers under the care of the city's healers. But once in a blue moon you might catch an Errant. But they are perhaps, the rarest race to find in Cinderfall due to far deep Cinderfall is into Dizajni.
