Audrey Reed is a Columbidae Featherfolk native to Alula currently working in that city's Environmental Division outpost hub as a biologist that specializes in ornithology. She also works on at the Willow & Reed Volary, a prominent business wing in Alula that raises and breeds peerkos.

Appearance

A woman who stands on the taller side of the Featherfolk height range, she has dark red-auburn hair that tapers into an orange color at the tips. Similarly orange-colored feathers also sprout from her head, nestled underneath her hair but are still visible. She has bright lime eyes, always seemingly smug or tired. Her wardrobe often consists of a headscarf, neckerchief, shirts that reveal her abdomen, short-shorts with a half-skirt, and long thigh-high leather boots with elbow-length gloves to match. Her white wings fade into a darker orange-gold color at the tips of the feathers, and they are often stained a little bit with dirt due to her profession as a peerkokeeper.

She always dons the patch of the Willow & Reed Volary on her outfits.

Personality

A very easy-going and carefree young woman. She isn’t afraid of voicing anything she is feeling, and can get feisty when she is challenged on topics she’s passionate about. Audrey is insanely good with creatures and animals, especially ones that are younger or pre-adulthood. She loves traveling, engaging in different cultures, people and animals, and documenting their lifestyles through photography, and eating all different kinds of food. She doesn’t go anywhere without her trusty camera and peerko companion, Taro.

Audrey can act very rash at times, but doesn't lack critical thinking skills. She's very smart and can pick up on animal behaviors easily, but maybe struggles with some emotional tells emitted by people themselves. She speaks with a strong Alulan accent, but it is easily understandable.

Biography

Audrey hails from Alula, a floating island home to a large population of avian Kindred and Featherfolk. She spent almost her entire life there with her family, went to a prestigious academy for general education during her childhood, and assisted with her family’s business of peerkokeeping. It is a very lucrative business as peerkos are very picky avian creatures and difficult to raise. The Reed family has been in this business for over three centuries, in partnership with another family by the surname of Willow. So the Willow & Reed Volary is a rather large aviary Wing focused on raising peerkos and harvesting their down and crystallites for export.

As Audrey grew older and more experienced with peerkokeeping, she decided to expand her interests in the business and prepare for a position in the Environmental Division outpost in Alula while helping her family with the volary. So, she packed up her belongings and moved out of the city temporarily to attend the Education Division Academy in Eversun City. Before she left, the head of the Willow family approached Audrey’s family and asked her to bring along and supervise their son who is also helping them in the volary, Sparrow, who is only a year younger than her. Considering they’d be going in for the same classes, she obliged, and off the two went to attend the Education Division Academy.

Unfortunately for Audrey, Sparrow was a nightmare student and was often caught cheating in his classes. He was an incredibly high-strung troublemaker and very much roped Audrey into things she didn’t want to be involved in, making her assume a half-guardian, half-older-sister role for him. Thanks to her very abrasive personality, she did her best to kick him into gear and eventually help him graduate the EDA… even if it delayed her return to Alula by a long while.

Audrey now resides back in Alula and has a very busy life, often filling up her schedule entirely day by day by either working out on the field and documenting avian behavior, working on her family’s volary, or traveling from city to city to photograph events. Sparrow is still her best friend despite the troubles he makes for her still, and due to his inconfidence in life and expectations placed by his successful peers at the volary, he follows her around like a lost fledgling half the time.

While Audrey is incredibly skilled at wind magic and learned the basics of earth magic in the Education Division Academy, she has no notable spells as of now.

• Audrey's accent is reminiscent of the real-world's United Kingdom and United States of America's southern accents.
• Taro has been her peerko companion since she was 5 years old, they grew up together and are inseparable.
• Audrey LOVES sports, she’s a master tennis player (or whatever the Castrella’s equivalent can be).
• She will wrestle a juvenile avistus or wild peerko, her win rate is 50%.
