Appearance
Keldwyn is a half Elvaari, half bovine Kindred with long flaming red hair, freckles and green eyes. Her skin is tanned from prolonged exposure to the bright ocean sun, and her hair is wind-tossed and rather messy. Physically, she appears to be in her mid to late 20’s. Atop her head are two bull-like horns that point forward and curl upward slightly. She usually wears a long billowy white blouse with frills, with a brown leather corset overtop, which causes the hem of the shirt to create somewhat of an open front skirt. She also wears reddish brown pants with lace-up sides and knee-high brown leather boots with multiple straps and buckles. Strapped around her right thigh is a leather holster for her flintlock pistol, which she carries on her person everywhere she goes (unless she’s in an area that prohibits weapons).

Personality
Having grown up around pirates, some of their personality traits rubbed off onto Kel. She became loud, rude and arrogant as a result. However since she left behind her old ways and signed up for the Adventurers Guild, she’s been trying to reform herself. She’s still as boisterous as ever, but her arrogance and overall rude demeanor have begun to show themselves less and less. She also picked up a rather flirtatious attitude, and will use it to get what she wants, whether it be money or simply to rise a reaction. She’s a fiery spirit who’s always eager for adventure, and a loyal companion to those she holds dear.

Biography
Keldwyn was born in the year 1007, in the month of Harvestine during the phase of the Siren, to her parents: an Elvaari mother and bovine Kindred father. They were an innocent family who lived in one of Castrella’s more impoverished port towns, until it was attacked by a brutal pirate raid when she was still a baby. Both of Kel’s parents were killed, leaving her to be kidnapped by the pirates and taken to their homeland of Murmillion.

She went on to be raised by the pirates, tagging along on their many raids and pillages, seeing things that no child should be seeing. By this point, she had fully taken on the life of a pirate. She led this life for over a hundred years until one fateful raid she happened to be on.

One day, her pirate crew had kidnapped an adventurer from the Wayfarers’ Division. While she was kept below deck in the brig, Kel snuck down to take a better look at her. Having never seen someone like this before, she was curious. She struck up a conversation with the adventurer, who told Kel all about the guild, Eversun, The Hearth, and so much more. Kel was enamored, and that night while the crew was asleep, she helped the adventurer use a dinghy to escape.

Ever since that encounter, Keldwyn had dreams about joining the guild. It wasn’t until she was 113 that she finally decided to leave Murmillion, and thusly her pirate life, behind. She went to Eversun City and lived in the streets until she was 199. It was then that she’d finally join the guild and signed up to the Trade Division, thinking her skills would be most useful there.

Now 223, Kel is fully devoted to her job. Sometimes she still finds herself swiping gold or other valuable trinkets from shipments as a bad habit, but she’s working on it. Overall, she’s happier with her new life, new job and new friends, and looks forward to every day as if it were a new adventure.

Keldwyn has proven to be a (somewhat) reliable captain for the Trade Division. She’s always perfectly on time with her shipments, but there’s always at least one item mysteriously missing. Other than that, she excels at every aspect of her job. She calls herself the best captain in Castrella, and while it is a self appointed title, it does have some merit.

Abilities
Although being aspected to water, Keldwyn has no aether magic training whatsoever. Instead she relies entirely on her wits and the skills she learned as a pirate. She is extremely agile, oftentimes swinging from the rigging to reach the highest masts, or walking along the bowsprit without the fear of falling off. She’s also very skilled with a flintlock and cutlass, and sharp as a nail.

<blockquote>“Lyna? Why, she’s my best friend. Wouldn’t be where I am without her. My pretty flower.” </blockquote> At the age of 113, Kel was at sea with her pirate crew when they happened across an unconscious Lyna Solai floating on some ice in the water. They took her onboard and Kel kept her company all the way back to Castrella, where the two of them escaped. Kel brought Lyna to a non-guild affiliated medical facility, where she finally woke up and was treated to the best of their ability. They lived together in the streets until they both joined the guild, and Lyna was finally able to get proper treatment.

Now the two of them are best friends, with Kel bringing back shiny gems and stones from her voyages for Lyna, and Lyna eagerly awaiting Kel’s arrival whenever she goes away. When not busy with her own work, Lyna will occasionally accompany Kel on her missions, flying in front of the ship to scout for potential dangers.

Eleanor Valentine
<blockquote>“My sweet Ella, love her to bits. She helps me see what it must’ve been like… to have a family.” </blockquote> After joining the guild in 1206, Kel quickly made friends with some of the other guild members, notably Keaton Valentine and Erica Valentine. They’d often bond over sharing drinks and stories together on their off days. When their daughter Eleanor Valentine was born in 1208, Kel was quick to volunteer to help take care of the child, since both parents had jobs in the guild and would often be too busy. Kel served as an aunt figure to the young Ella, helping take care of her alongside Seymour Gallagher.

Once Kel’s job had gotten too busy and she couldn’t help care for Ella anymore, she left her in the care of Seymour Gallagher so she could focus on her guild work. When Kel had heard the news of the fallen crew of 1210 and the loss of Ella’s parents, she immediately dropped everything to go be with Ella during this time of grieving.

As the years passed, Kel and Ella’s relationship grew stronger. Ella would practically pounce on Kel whenever she’d return from her voyages, ecstatic that “Auntie Wyn” finally came back. As is the case with anyone Kel is close with, she’d return with several shiny sea shells and stones and artifacts for Ella’s growing collection.

<blockquote>“The lad’s got an ego bigger than his cannonballs, but ye can’t help but love that stupid face.” </blockquote> Good friends and drinking buddies. They met at The Gingko Tree while they were both drunk and struck up a conversation. Ari revealed that he was jealous of Kel’s job, so she offered to take him sailing. The trip went well, but there was a lot of teasing directed at Ari for not having his sea legs. While away they also may have shared an intimate moment, but that’s just a rumor…

The two of them share a special bond, teasing and flirting with each other, constantly having to one-up the other, etc. But it’s all done out of love. They can often be found at The Gingko Tree or any local tavern drinking and singing together.

Hyalt Keylen
<blockquote> “Hyalt’s such a sweet young lass. She’s a real team member and a fantastic addition to my crew. I always get excited when I see she’s been assigned to my ship. Love ye, pinky!” </blockquote> While relaxing at The Gingko Tree one day, Kel noticed Hyalt eyeing the quest board and approached, intrigued by the woman’s striking pink and green hair. Kel pointed out a quest that would involve boat travel to get to the destination, and offered to take Hyalt there on her ship. Showing interest in the idea of sailing, Hyalt agreed, and the two of them set off.

They became quick friends and questing partners, with Hyalt being assigned to accompany Kel on several Trade missions. Kel admires Hyalt’s bubbly personality and love for adventure, and sees her as a trustworthy friend and skilled wayfarer.

Deirdre Silva
<blockquote>“A good work partner and a great friend. I do worry about her, though. She fell from the crow’s nest, for Pete’s sake!! </blockquote> Due to being a dragon and courier, Kel often commissions Deirdre as her personal messenger on her voyages. She sees D as a little sister, and thinks she’s just the cutest thing ever. She doesn’t mind D’s constant questions about pirate life and sailing, but she does worry about the dragon and how accident prone she is. Despite Deirdre’s pain tolerance, Kel still cares for her and wants to make sure she’s ok whenever she stumbles or trips on deck.

Monica Holst
<blockquote>“Moni’s just the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen! She can be a bit of a mess around me, but it just makes her even cuter.” </blockquote> The two of them met at a tavern after Kel approached Monica, complimenting her purple cat ears. Kel thought she was cute, and began to flirt with the cat girl. They talked and Kel asked about Monica’s job in the Outerworld Division, which Monica gushed about passionately for several minutes. Kel admired her passion, and made her move. Eventually Kel pinned Monica to the wall, ending up in her being a flustered mess and the two of them getting their own room.

General Cassiopeia
<blockquote>“A kindhearted soul who’s dedicated to his job. I admire that. But I wish he’d just drop the flintlock thing. I was teaching the kiddies important skills! Survival skills!!” </blockquote> Initially Keldwyn thought Leo was naive and annoying, due to her very limited run-ins with the wayfarer. However after he was assigned to accompany her on a trade mission, the following voyage resulted in the pirate’s mind being changed. She saw Leo for who he truly is, an optimistic soul with a helpful and friendly attitude. Kel warmed up to Leo, and the two became better friends. However Leo still holds some disdain for Kel after she taught the Valhalla Project kids how to use a flintlock.

Odin
<blockquote>“Odin and I have a lot in common. Both lost our families, both grew up thieves… I have a lot of empathy for the poor bird.” </blockquote> After hearing about the Valhalla Project, Kel felt bad for all of the poor children and made a rather generous donation. It was this that began a close friendship with Odin. She quickly earned the trust of Odin and in turn, her brother Korin. Kel would continue to make donations, even showing up to the project site frequently to bring gifts to the children, earning their trust as well as the nickname “Auntie Kelly”.

Kel also used this opportunity to flirt with Odin and her brother, the former being more successful than the latter. Korin would either barely acknowledge or completely ignore Kel’s advances, only prompting Kel to continue to try and get a reaction out of him. Meanwhile Odin would immediately shut down and get flustered, which Kel admittedly was into.

Lianne Fennick
<blockquote>“Lianne, now there’s a name that’s like music to my pointed ears. If there’s anyone I’d settle down with, it’d be her. If only she shared the feeling…” </blockquote> During her first visit to the Valhalla Project site, Kel stopped by the Morning Roost Café and was immediately taken aback by Lianne. They exchanged flirtatious remarks and hit it off pretty well, and Lianne invited Kel to stay the night. The following night was unlike anything Kel ever experienced before, and it resulted in her visiting the Café rather frequently. Kel stops by to see Lianne at least three times a week, sprouting the rumor that the two are actually married. Kel also brings Lianne lots and lots of stolen jewelry, which the fox kindred accepts and wears happily.

Overall, she’s happier with her new life, new job and new friends, and looks forward to every day as if it were a new adventure.

Contributions

Keldwyn has proven to be a (somewhat) reliable captain for the Trade Division. She’s always perfectly on time with her shipments, but there’s always at least one item mysteriously missing. Other than that, she excels at every aspect of her job. She calls herself the best captain in Castrella, and while it is a self appointed title, it does have some merit.

Abilities

Although being aspected to water, Keldwyn has no aether magic training whatsoever. Instead she relies entirely on her wits and the skills she learned as a pirate. Lyna Solai

The Girl and the Dragon

“Lyna? Why, she’s my best friend. Wouldn’t be where I am without her. My pretty flower.”

At the age of 113, Kel was at sea with her pirate crew when they happened across an unconscious Lyna Solai floating on some ice in the water.
