Rin Kazashi

At least by then I hope to achieve some form of truth, a truth that can be given to the public, a truth given to those who have grieved in the past or lost in the same way I have, or a truth to those who have lost their way because of these events. By which my name, and title, as a Kazashi, I vow to see this through until my last breath is given or i'm too far gone to my corruption that my own comrades must strike me down. Rin is a Human that works non-stop within the Outerworld Division both as someone who frequently goes into bubbles as well as a diplomat for sensitive topics. She seeks the truths about the horrors that have happened.

Appearance

Rin stands only at 5'6" (167.6cm) and has long straight red hair with hime-styled bangs. Her eyes are a crystal-like blue. Occasionally one can find bits of snow white in her hair from the Law corruption. Her outfit varies, usually something frilly and flowing and otherwise something she wears almost like a uniform into combat scenarios. She keeps her family sword with her at all times, which is a Katana with a plum colored steel on the dull side. The sheath is adorned in chrysanthemums, the flower of her Family.

Biography

Rin was the single child of the Kazashi family, the only heir to the prestigious noble line. All her life she grew up learning the etiquette required to deal with politics within the city, how to talk to nobles, how to debate with them, how to make your viewpoints heard and how to hold your charisma towards the public to gain their support. Rin was raised learning how to control her Fire aspect thanks to her mother's guidance and she learned how to protect herself without magic by studying the defensive combat style of her katana through her father. Leading up to early adulthood she looked forward to joining the Guild as a Wayfarer so she could more directly assist the public with their everyday lives as she sees the Guild as a positive beacon to society.

Then the Incident happened. A contagious spore of Law infected her town, bringing widespread panic and swift destruction of lives. None escaped its corruption and only one survived. Rin lives her life now dealing with the hardships the corruption brings by battling its spread through her body as best she can. She instead turned to the Outerworld Division to get a better understanding of how this corruption works, and better yet to see if there was something far sinister that had caused the event that took everything she ever had.

As the last Kazashi, she gained her title of head of her noble lineage, but she finds this an empty title and prefers to not bring it up unless she's swinging it at another Noble's debate. The guild is her new home, her new family, and she will fight to make sure the Truth is found.

Death of the Kazashi Family

A fact of her life that Rin prefers to never bring up, unless she trusts you with her life that much, is the exact events of her family and hometown's passing, as well as how she obtained her Law corruption before even joining the OWD.

The whole town was celebrating an important holiday for the region (TBD), important enough that everyone mingles from the farmers up to the noble elite of the town. Guild sanctioned musicians played, vendors brought in treats from all around, and so the entire town is packed into a central location for the festivities. As the music played, many people began to notice a burning sensation flaring across their skin. One by one people started to feel this, including Rin. Their breath showed in the air as if it was cold despite the heat, and a panic began to build from the inner crowds that started to cause a stampede. Frozen statues of people in the midst of their running, as others began to shove past Rin with frost creeping up their arms and legs. Some falling over, shattering to pieces. Rin managed to escape the stampeding crowd, finding a location to wrap her head around why she felt so cold. As she warmed herself the best she could with fire aether, to no avail, she also began to wonder why her body wasn't icing over like the others. She could only watch in horror as it overtook everyone around her, their whispering voices rattling in her head over and over and over. What was once a sunny day was now sprinkling snow, as if a final blanket to all the noise in the area. Panic settled in, and a search for people she knew began. A search for survivors. A plea for help.

She only found her parents in what she could put together as a "ground zero" of sorts for the disaster. Shattered. Their faces still in the midst of their merriment, an image that haunts her nightmares years later.

The guild would like to mention that the horrific events that happened at |REDACTED| were of natural disastrous causes and were in fact not related to any Law mishaps.

Relationships

*Discuss with me! Rin is a social person normally, but this version of Rin might have very serious goals and a underlying problem of survivors guilt!*

Odin:

Miss Odin is such an invaluable friend to me. In the time that I found myself lost, I found a likeness in her. I wish Miss Odin prosperity in all of her endeavors, and through my will of being and by what little I can claim as a Kazashi a means for her to be able to live more.

Rin knows Odin rather well considering both of their importance within the OWD, despite leading separate squadrons. In between those missions into the bubbles or whenever Rin isn't dealing with politics, she spends downtime around Odin very often. Rin treats Odin the same way she treats everyone, equally as if they were the same status as her. In a way Rin looks up to the tenacity that Odin has had to face, as Rin didn't have the same hardships as her growing up. Still, Rin would do whatever she can to help Odin where she can.

Freyja:

Miss Freyja is as eccentric as she is hard working. Of course I mean this with utmost endearing respect, for it takes that kind of non-stop focus to truly breakthrough in a field as competitive as medicine. I hope whatever it is she needs plants and herbs for is something she can solve in her time. At least, by helping her, I feel like I'm helping my parents again.

Rin finds the work ethic of the doctor both eccentric and endearing. The dedication and passion she has for her craft saves lives, at the least, and she can understand the mentality to pull so many all nighters to get tasks done. Still, she isn't fond of the medicine used to keep her corruption in check, despite how necessary it is to make sure she can see her goals through before the inevitable. Because of this Rin would offer any assistance she can give, considering her unique position.

Lyna:

Miss Lyna is such a wonderful delight. The expression she shares while sparring is infectious and the way she loves people around her wholeheartedly warms me. Ever a day I feel down, I know that Lyna's smile and care will cheer me up.

Rin knew the dragons were real, after all there was a cheerful courier that visited her family's estate pretty often with mail, but she never got to personally meet one until her visits with Freyja. Rin finds her excitement adorable and is pleased that Lyna loves to spar. There's not many things that keeps a smile on Rin, but somehow the presence of this fallen dragon is one of them.

Monica:

I always admire those younger than me taking initiative to learn from those that have, unfortunately, experienced more in this world. It is... a shame such a young person shares a similar fate as I. And with it a longing for wishful thinking of a better world, and a newfound push to further my investigation into these causes. May Miss Monica live to see a cure.

Rin knows the young scout mostly from occasionally working together in bubble dives. She treats monica in a way that guides them, or at least in a way that Rin tries to understand as well when it comes to being corrupted with chaotic aether like Law or Whimsy.

Eleanor:

I'm never one to receive gifts without the means to give back, but I find it hard to not take gifts from Miss Eleanor. Her smile mostly brings the act to be difficult, and before I know it I find myself in my own kitchen during a free day baking to my hearts content for her. May her smile always stay bright.

Rin doesn't know all too much about the young member of the guild, other than that she's been around within it longer than even she has and that she holds a similarity of having lost parents. Rin finds the girl excitable, even if she over-idolizes the veteran, but her cute endearment is a warm welcome on the fringes of the Law bubbles. Given that they both run odd jobs for Freyja at times, they tend to run into each other every now and then back at the guild, and Rin always returns the favor of given food to the girl.

Nine:

....It's really a shame to see such a fantastic worker in the division have to retire the way he did. I understand why. For most in the division, the corruption is a career blockade. I know the blow was hard on him, and while he's a veteran worker to me, i'm the veteran in handling the corruption. I'll always check up on him. It's the least I can do as thanks for watching over me.

Rin finds the man to be a bit understandably grumpy, but working with him always meant seeing his work ethic on the field come through. She remembers what he was like before and after the Law affliction, and even moreso how he was after he left the division all together. She continues to treat him as she always does to people, equally, while also having proper chances to truly talk to one another. Rin enjoys hearing of various perspective from everyone around her, and she'll always forgive him for how he had ever treated her. As someone who dealt with her corruption longer, she checks up on him a lot.

Korin :

It's frustrating to know my status is still held in any eyes, especially from those I just simply wish to help. I know better than anyone the terrors of bureaucracy. I know as well what it's like to lose everything in just mere moments. *SIGH* But I am, after all, still the now Head of a renowned noble family. It's not going anywhere until my final breath is drawn, and I'm afraid I know better than to try to convince one who distrusts nobility to ever sway. I wish Mister Korin the strength to continue further, and I hope he knows I would still do anything in my power to be of assistance.

A mysterious man that Rin only met once or twice through Odin. His comments are harsh, especially towards her and her status much to her dismay. She secretly hopes his cold shoulder would warm up to others but she understands his own predicament. Rin finds their small debates a good exercise though when she's forced into bureaucratic talks.
