Roles Representing the skill set of any adventurer, a role is basically a job. Every Guild Wayfarer's License lists the different roles they cover. This is made to easily market yourself to parties looking for a specific skill set.
Basic Information
Roles break down into 3 categories. Primary Roles, which covers what you bring to the party in utility. Secondary Roles, which covers what you bring to combat. & Tertiary Roles, which is the other category for specific skills that don't fit the first two.
While all Wayfarers are required to have this on their license, many other guild members can be given temporary licenses if their specific skill-set fit the prerequisites of the Quest.
Primary Roles
What you bring to the Party
- Scout - Acts as a forward party member, some would call them Rangers. They help explore & bypass terrain. Extremely useful for long term missions.
- Thief - Functions to handle stealing precious objects, unlocking locks, finding traps, & are generally good for dungeon crawling.
- Scholar - Has general wisdom of many subjects, though may have a focus of interest. Generally, they can give good information on a lot of non-magical things.
- Bard - Not necessarily magical like some may expect, due to curses being caused due to a drop in party morale, the Bard acts as a good mediator & entertainer to keep everyone in good spirits. They could be Musicians, Artists, or just someone you can have a nice conversation with. Also make an amazing diversion.
- Arcanist - The magical expert, though they may have a focus. Good for magically focused quests.
- Face - Act as the go between with the party & other people. Perfect when needing to interact with Nobles & High Ranking Officials.
- Chef - The worst thing you could have in any mission is an empty stomach. Chefs are experts in how to make even the worst ingredients become a beautiful art.
Secondary Roles
What you bring to Combat
- DPS - Deal Damage Good. Also the most common role in the Wayfarer's Division. They hit hard & keep going.
- Tank - If you need a wall to protect your backline, these are your people.
- Healer - The most sought after role & also the rarest due to how hard it is to gain this title. Healers keep the Party Healthy!
- Support - Good at enabling your team & disabling the enemy.
- Mage - Specializing in magic damage, & also known as Bursts, they tend to be good at utilizing magic to deadly effect.
Tertiary Role
This Role requires special permission from the Guild if you cover a specialized thing that does not fit the previous criteria.
