James is overall humanoid in appearance with tanned skin, hazel eyes, and ginger colored hair that darkens to a true red at the ends. He stands at six feet tall with a muscular build. Both arms have been replaced with Automaton appendages; his left at the elbow, and right at the forearm. Both hands have only four fingers. His neck is comprised mostly of thick cables, with metal supports along his jawline and collarbone. Circuitry is visible on his stomach, connecting his upper body with a chassis to support his lower body. While his right leg is entirely mechanical, his left leg is primarily still organic, except for the knee. There is a maintenance port at his lower back so his internal organs and components are accessible.

In terms of dress, James chooses outfits based on how "cool" he thinks it will look. He wears low rise bell bottom jeans to show off his abdominal muscles, and platform boots to make him appear taller. His hooded jacket has had the sleeves ripped off (he will say it happened in combat, but was actually a purposeful alteration by himself) and is worn over a cropped shirt.

== Biography ==
Born in a rural farming village and dissatisfied with the prospect of a pastoral life, James ran away from home at 16 in search of adventure. One of his more ambitious expeditions sent him further west towards the island of Machina, where the atmospheric Law corruption quickly eroded both his confidence and his body. On the brink of death, James happened to be discovered by wandering Automatons, who escorted him back to their settlement and used their own version of medical practices to "fix" his ailments, cutting away the corruption and replacing parts of his organic body with Automaton technology. Thanks to his new cyborg body, James managed to survive the ordeal with increased strength, endurance, and higher immunity to aetherial corruption. He has since had various other "upgrades," sometimes due to his reckless nature and sometimes purely for personal desire. After cheating death in this fortunate event, James turned to mercenary work and quickly gained a reputation for accepting any and all requests that came his way with the mindset that any damage dealt to his organic body can be replaced with machine.

Nine is a humanoid male on the shorter than average side, somewhat stocky with toned muscles from his years of doing more intensive physical work with the [[Outerworld Division]]. He is missing his left ring finger, which is the meaning behind his pseudonym. Due to Law corruption, Nine is blind in his right eye and part of his hair has lost its pigmentation. He has olive toned skin, brown eyes (although one is now hazy) and black hair that is beginning to turn gray in places besides the patch of white. Other notable features include a widow’s peak, a hooked nose, and a scar through his left eyebrow. Nine is typically clean shaven unless he has overworked himself to the point of neglecting his facial hair.

In terms of dress, Nine is almost always seen in long sleeves in order to hide the various scars along his arms. To the uninitiated, he appears harsh and aloof; should one find themselves in his good graces, they are likely to be treated to small kindnesses like an extra slice of bread with their meal or a pair of knitted socks on a special occasion. Still, he is not one to seek out companionship or readily share personal information, and will feign ignorance should any of these favors be addressed.

Nine was abandoned by his parents at a young age, forced to live on the streets in the northern slums until he was old enough to register with the guild. After joining and completing the required educational courses, he continued his usual habits in the pursuit of revelry, often earning reprimands and demerits from higher ups. He was, however, a considerable force in combat — particularly in situations where the use of magic may be detrimental or even impossible — which soon earned him a place within the Outerworld Division. During this time, he met a woman who was infatuated by his rebellious spirit and carefree attitude, resulting in a whirlwind romance and unplanned pregnancy. The relationship was tumultuous, as the new mother wanted nothing more than a stable father for her child, yet Nine stubbornly refused to be tied down.

His final deployment with the Outerworld Division led to Law corruption that cost him partial eyesight. Upon returning to the guild, he handed in the necessary forms to apply for a transfer, feeling grateful to have even returned at all. Now seeking a slower pace in life, he was assigned to housekeeping within the Contingency Division, where he soon came to be known amongst the other staff as a stickler for perfection — even going to extremes such as sorting laundry by different shades of the same color. Although somewhat difficult to work with, it could not be said Nine was lax in his new job, and he eventually came to settle into the caretaker role, albeit reluctantly at times. However, he made no attempts to contact his family upon returning to the guild, instead assuming they would believe him dead after such a dangerous deployment with the Outerworld Division. It has been seven years, and occasionally a letter addressed to an unfamiliar name will appear amongst the guild’s mail, only for Nine to hand the envelope back to the courier to return to sender.

== Abilities ==
Nine is ambidextrous and specifically trained in the use of blades, growing attached to a particular hunting knife he keeps strapped to his thigh and calls “Ten,” using it and his learned proficiency to win both bets and fights alike. It has been quite some time since this weapon was wielded in battle, however, and is now the bane of even the hardiest kitchen vegetable.

Born with a Light aspect yet no one throughout his youth to instruct him on properly harnessing the power, Nine is rather reluctant to use magic after one too many mishaps over the years. He prefers settling matters with physical strength.

Nine possesses many practical domestic skills, including but not limited to: sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening, weapon maintenance, and basic first aid. While he can technically also bake, his confections unfortunately come out of the oven a different flavor or texture than intended.

If a task involves extensive reading or numbers, this is the only time Nine will most likely pass the work on to someone else. His penmanship is notorious for being nearly illegible.

Despite being the youngest of the four Lancaster children, Nevidess is also the tallest, standing just over six feet. He is exceedingly slim and has trouble maintaining his weight; when he was younger, adults often mistook him as sickly. His shaggy hair is naturally blond, which he regularly lightens to a bleach blond, and he shares his mother's blue eyes. When he smiles, one can admire the boyish dimples on both his cheeks. Nevidess prefers to wear dark, loose-fitting clothing.

Nevidess is friendly and outgoing in many ways that ideally keep him out of the spotlight. He is a force of positivity and encouragement, always seeking to live up to the middle name Ari bestowed upon him when he was born. When it comes to others, Nevidess has never met a stranger -- though sometimes he has been known to share too much information and often fails to realize if someone is growing tired of his presence. Fortunately it is nearly impossible to offend the youngest Lancaster, so he will not take it to heart if he is asked to leave. He always wants to see the good in others and is somewhat of a people pleaser, occasionally to his own detriment. Since he almost never is seen without a book in hand, Nevidess often has his head in a novel or in the clouds, his imagination a distraction from his everyday life, and he has a habit of misplacing his belongings due to this lack of careful attention.

== Biography ==
Nevidess was an unplanned addition to the Lancaster family, and is considerably younger than his other relatives because of this. However, because of the difference in age, his older brother [[Ari Lancaster|Ari]] was able to play a part in helping raise the young Elvaari, sparing him from a similarly harsh and cold upbringing like his siblings received. The two are naturally close, serving as one another's most trusted confidants; Ari was the first person Nevidess spoke to about his gender identity when he was a teenager. Not long after beginning his transition, Nevidess enrolled in the guild's academy, and eventually was granted an internship in the Archivist Grand Library -- a position he greatly covets, but as of yet still lacks the organizational skills to do efficiently. When the Build-A-Bread bakery opened, Nevidess was quickly drawn in by his love of animals and subsequent fascination with Breadpals, and thanks to his personable nature, now works the counter part time. == Biography ==
Born in a rural farming village and dissatisfied with the prospect of a pastoral life, James ran away from home at 16 in search of adventure. One of his more ambitious expeditions sent him further west towards the island of Machina, where the atmospheric Law corruption quickly eroded both his confidence and his body. On the brink of death, James happened to be discovered by wandering Automatons, who escorted him back to their settlement and used their own version of medical practices to "fix" his ailments, cutting away the corruption and replacing parts of his organic body with Automaton technology. Thanks to his new cyborg body, James managed to survive the ordeal with increased strength, endurance, and higher immunity to aetherial corruption. He has since had various other "upgrades," sometimes due to his reckless nature and sometimes purely for personal desire. After cheating death in this fortunate event, James turned to mercenary work and quickly gained a reputation for accepting any and all requests that came his way with the mindset that any damage dealt to his organic body can be replaced with machine.

== Appearance ==
Nine is a humanoid male on the shorter than average side, somewhat stocky with toned muscles from his years of doing more intensive physical work with the [[Outerworld Division]]. He is missing his left ring finger, which is the meaning behind his pseudonym. Due to Law corruption, Nine is blind in his right eye and part of his hair has lost its pigmentation. He has olive toned skin, brown eyes (although one is now hazy) and black hair that is beginning to turn gray in places besides the patch of white. Other notable features include a widow’s peak, a hooked nose, and a scar through his left eyebrow. Nine is typically clean shaven unless he has overworked himself to the point of neglecting his facial hair.

In terms of dress, Nine is almost always seen in long sleeves in order to hide the various scars along his arms. While working, he often wears an apron tied around his waist, and depending on the job, may also wear gloves and a mask. He is very particular about stains and imperfections in one’s appearance, even having been known to excuse himself and others from many a situation in order to address a perceived flaw.

== Personality ==
In his youth, Nine was considered to be brash, reckless, and impulsive, often finding himself involved in fights and other unscrupulous activities. After leaving the Outerworld Division, however, he considers himself to have given up most of his “bad habits.” Whether it is cooking, cleaning, or maintenance, Nine is studious and takes pride in his work — sometimes to the point of perfectionism — and does not handle criticism well. To the uninitiated, he appears harsh and aloof; should one find themselves in his good graces, they are likely to be treated to small kindnesses like an extra slice of bread with their meal or a pair of knitted socks on a special occasion. Still, he is not one to seek out companionship or readily share personal information, and will feign ignorance should any of these favors be addressed.

== Biography ==
Nine was abandoned by his parents at a young age, forced to live on the streets in the northern slums until he was old enough to register with the guild. After joining and completing the required educational courses, he continued his usual habits in the pursuit of revelry, often earning reprimands and demerits from higher ups. He was, however, a considerable force in combat — particularly in situations where the use of magic may be detrimental or even impossible — which soon earned him a place within the Outerworld Division. During this time, he met a woman who was infatuated by his rebellious spirit and carefree attitude, resulting in a whirlwind romance and unplanned pregnancy. The relationship was tumultuous, as the new mother wanted nothing more than a stable father for her child, yet Nine stubbornly refused to be tied down.

His final deployment with the Outerworld Division led to Law corruption that cost him partial eyesight. Upon returning to the guild, he handed in the necessary forms to apply for a transfer, feeling grateful to have even returned at all. Now seeking a slower pace in life, he was assigned to housekeeping within the Contingency Division, where he soon came to be known amongst the other staff as a stickler for perfection — even going to extremes such as sorting laundry by different shades of the same color. Although somewhat difficult to work with, it could not be said Nine was lax in his new job, and he eventually came to settle into the caretaker role, albeit reluctantly at times. However, he made no attempts to contact his family upon returning to the guild, instead assuming they would believe him dead after such a dangerous deployment with the Outerworld Division. It has been seven years, and occasionally a letter addressed to an unfamiliar name will appear amongst the guild’s mail, only for Nine to hand the envelope back to the courier to return to sender.

== Abilities ==
Nine is ambidextrous and specifically trained in the use of blades, growing attached to a particular hunting knife he keeps strapped to his thigh and calls “Ten,” using it and his learned proficiency to win both bets and fights alike. It has been quite some time since this weapon was wielded in battle, however, and is now the bane of even the hardiest kitchen vegetable.

Born with a Light aspect yet no one throughout his youth to instruct him on properly harnessing the power, Nine is rather reluctant to use magic after one too many mishaps over the years. He prefers settling matters with physical strength.

Nine possesses many practical domestic skills, including but not limited to: sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening, weapon maintenance, and basic first aid. While he can technically also bake, his confections unfortunately come out of the oven a different flavor or texture than intended.

If a task involves extensive reading or numbers, this is the only time Nine will most likely pass the work on to someone else. His penmanship is notorious for being nearly illegible.

One of his more ambitious expeditions sent him further west towards the island of Machina, where the atmospheric Law corruption quickly eroded both his confidence and his body. On the brink of death, James happened to be discovered by wandering Automatons, who escorted him back to their settlement and used their own version of medical practices to "fix" his ailments, cutting away the corruption and replacing parts of his organic body with Automaton technology. Thanks to his new cyborg body, James managed to survive the ordeal with increased strength, endurance, and higher immunity to aetherial corruption. He has since had various other "upgrades," sometimes due to his reckless nature and sometimes purely for personal desire. After cheating death in this fortunate event, James turned to mercenary work and quickly gained a reputation for accepting any and all requests that came his way with the mindset that any damage dealt to his organic body can be replaced with machine.

Hello! Call me Lily — I made [[Nine]], [[Ari Lancaster|Ari]], [[Nevidess Lancaster|Nevidess]], [[Nova Holland|Nova]], and [[J-4M3S|James]]! This page is here because I wanna talk about '''ME.''' Still, we’re gonna keep it short, yeah? I live in the southern US in the Memphis TN area, and graduated college with a degree in Graphic Design and Japanese language. Still experiencing some pretty serious burnout from being an art student for years, but I am slowly attempting to get my groove back. I’m way into HoYoVerse games (particularly Honkai Impact 3rd!), Precure, Final Fantasy, Japanese culture, true crime, and aquatic life.

Here’s some fun facts! Nine was my first character to join Castrella, after my husband told me his character [[Monica Holst|Monica]] was essentially a herrscher style entity a la Honkai terminology. His character is sort of a god; mine is doing laundry. Nine’s birthday is the day I created him. I keep comparing him to Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation and Luke from Gilmore Girls.

Ari was thrown into the mix because he is one of my first OCs ever and I cannot get him out of the imaginary apartment in my head, which of course he would treat as his own bachelor pad. In my personal work, he’s actually much more traumatized from being a child soldier, but for Castrella, I decided to just let him be a rich and bored pretty boy. How generous of me, right?

Nevidess is my newest addition to Castrella and is Ari's adorable baby brother. Do not separate. They have been in my brain hole together for the past 15+ years.

Nova was kind of (and kind of not) made on accident. She is an amalgamation of many of my favorite themes and interests, like lolita fashion, penguins, and ocean themes. The only way she could be more tailored to me is if I managed to somehow find a way to make her more pink.

James started as a character I had a dream about? But he was too cool not to flesh out. Now here he is, and he has actually even absorbed and replaced one of my older OCs. Thanks derpy mandroid!

Ran away from home as a young teen, but was quickly corrupted by Law near an Automaton settlement in Machina that he foolishly assumed would not be that dangerous. The Automatons "fixed" his ailments, replacing his failing human systems with Automaton parts, essentially making him a cyborg and allowing him to better adjust to the atmospheric Law due to the Automaton's natural immunity. Has since had various "upgrades" due to his reckless nature and the mindset that any damage dealt to his organic body can be replaced with machine.
